Every time I press the A button, the chat window opens, then I have to hit the B button to get out of the chat window, and stand in the exact “correct” spot to attack, pick up an item, or interact with the environment. PLZ FIX THIS.
Close your steam client and it should fix it

Yup. That fixed the issue for me too. I’ve tried the GLAP, some cheap Temu controller (which turns out to be quite nice and an XBOX Series controller. Never realised the issues could be something else.
