Playing HC for only the second season, but with the changes to Paragon and the Difficulty Tiers I am not sure how to proceed.
Playing a SB simply to be as tanky as possible while building XP.
Currently Paragon 48 and on T1. Have all but one of the required Aspects, but some are still Lvl1 of 21. Happily handling anything in Overworld. Yet to try Blood Maiden or the Pinacle Bosses, as I want to be a bit concervative.
I have a few Ancestral pieces, but only a very low level (621) Rod of K but no other Uniques and not a lot of Gold yet so upgrades are based on how much it costs me to do imprinting.
Wanting to be a bit careful and not do anything that is too difficult and likely to get me killed, so my question is, at what paragon should I be able to try the Bosses without high risk of death, but not when its a cakewalk either?
It all depends on your comfort level with your class’ combat and survivability.
My general “rule of thumb” is when I can run Pit 20 in under 5m then the first tier ladder bosses are fair game. Varshan, Grigoire, Beast, & Zir. When I’m almost to the next torment like Pit 30 in under 5 minutes then I go after Duriel and Andariel.
Then repeat as I climb pit levels. My Hydra sorceress is doing Pit 45 in under 5 minutes so I’m farming all of the ladder bosses in T2. Soon I’ll be in T3 and farming Varshan, etc. there.
Honestly the silly “boss is immune/off screen” mechanics are the only hard parts of any of the fights. Andariel being the worst, IMO.
Ahh… bootstrapping… the real fun part of HC… you can’t just throw yourself into a meat grinder you need to carefully plan your ascent. It really changes the game.
