When they slow xp down so much you quit

I knew when I purchased the game that it would have the same growing pains that D3 did when it originally released. I knew there would be half a dozen patches to fix or balance the game. The problem is… The developers forgot that Diablo games are predominately single player games. There is absolutely NO REASON to drag out the xp grind so it takes the average working class person looking for a couple hours of escapism every other day almost a year to level a single character to max level through mindless unenjoyable grinding. It’s bad enough you have to literally spend thousands of hours grinding for the best gear once you get to max level.

Congratulations Blizzard! You nerfed xp gain SO LOW that now I don’t get any… because I don’t play anymore.

I don’t get it. What’s there at max level that you can’t have at level 60?

This is the problem. Not the XP, the fact that you aren’t enjoying playing. It doesn’t get any better at max level. So if you aren’t enjoying it, you are better of taking a break than mindlessly grinding for no reason.

Nothing.

Well, about 160 paragon points, an absurd amount of player power, the satisfaction of feeling like you didn’t have to abandon a character halfway through leveling, the last tier of season rewards, and being able to experience a class as it was designed to be, but… other than that, basically nothing.

Just hit it at 76. In the open world. Even with the 25% weekend buff. This is where the game dies for me. Sad.

A proper build is not possible at 60

You criticize the devs for not knowing Diablo games are “predominantly single player games” but you think that the only example of a leveling rate is Diablo 3…

Honestly, getting to 100 in Diablo 4 is a lot quicker than getting to 99 in Diablo 2.

Diablo 3, where you could get to the level cap in less than an hour, is really not what Diablo 4 should aim for.

What nerf?

There was a HUGE nerf to exp gain starting at the beginning of season 1.

Diablo 2, you get more exp as you clear harder content. In D4, you get MARGINALLY more exp for clearing 10 levels above you, but at level 70 you are often capable of clearing THIRTY levels above you. You get no extra exp for that.

Remember too in Diablo 2 you have periods where you can do baal runs and chaos runs and you get level after level after level. That is the fun part of Diablo games in general. That is non existent in Diablo 4.

If I have a good build at level 70 and can blast 30 levels higher, I should be able to blast level after level for awhile. Maybe not all the way to 100, but it takes SO LONG to get from 70 to 100.

WHY it takes so long I have a couple ideas why but one is that instead of actually BALANCING different builds, the game is designed so there is no incentive to run a good build. All builds are equal because good builds don’t help you level faster.

I can tell you don’t have a level 100 character if you defend this crap. Noob.

The fact that you have the gall to criticize my opinion, but be dumb enough to ask this question shows how clueless you are. Crawl back under your bridge, troll.

Without aiming at one or the other, there is quite a wide range between the two.
IMO, they should make it so that completing the battle pass and getting to level 100 take pretty much the same time (maybe 10 more hours or so to go 100, but right now you beat the battle pass when you are about halfway through leveling. The gap is too large)

I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you were still making new threads about things that happened a month and a half ago as if they happened recently.

Are you not the troll for coming onto the forums just to make this rant, a month and a half later?

Super weird.

Did exp get nerfed again? What I did miss?

The whole idea about a diablo game is to lvl and grow stronger. It took time to get 99 in d2. It took years to get 20k paragon in d3. Why would u want to get max lvl in d4 quick? If u cant get lvl 100 in a season, then that is fine.

Well according to D4armory, my seasonal toon has 210 hours played and I just hit 97.
I have no interest in spending that much time each season to hit 100.

Thats because whiners complained about level scaling and not feeling powerful. Blizzard nerfed the open world so those people could feel “powerful”.

Since the xp buff to nm dungons there is no other place one should grind xp. Its insanely fast to get to 100 doing chain nm dungons. Got 100 druid and necro will prob hit 100 this weekend on season 1. Also have 100 sorc preseason and 60 rouge.

People who complain about lving being slow are just inefficient.

Me when I find out people can complain about anything at any point in time.

EXP isn’t why I’m not playing. It’s loot being in the poor state that it’s in. I don’t think I’ll return unless there’s a major overhaul to how bland the affixes are.

Of course solo players are still penalised in D4. The bonus for groups are so big (not only the 10% more, but the overall levelling with split farms and so on…) that B was worried about too fast levelling (for groups and cheaters) that solo players was forgotten.

After the need it is sooooo slow levelling after 70

I forget. Were D2 & D3 different? I want to say yes…

I really hope they add a SSF mode to D4, like apparently they just did in D3, except not 10 years after release this time…
