When is the next developer update?

I think players would be more willing to give this season a chance if they knew about the upcoming plans for itemization improvements.

I’m pretty sure the recent interview with the game director about the long-term health of the game didn’t reach most of the player base. From my understanding, this is only the first iteration of a new kind of itemization, and there will be further changes. I don’t think this has been communicated clearly enough.

What interview is that?

Them having future plans for itemization sounds scary given what they are doing now.

You are probably right, I forgot it’s that close already.

Thanks

In a discussion with GameSpot, design director Dan Tanguay explained that these changes are to ensure Diablo 4’s “long-term health”. The design director explained that the negative feedback to the prior changes for Uniques were worrying as the plan is to keep “building on top of that”, although the negativity is pushing Blizzard to “split the difference” with players.

Dear lord Blizzard… doubling down on bad decisions.

“We really need to address both of those things right now while still making sure long term we have fewer best-in-slot problems and we’ve got a lot more build diversity at the end of it,” the design director said.

A good goal. But other than the much needed Mythics nerfs (best part of S14 for sure) it seems like they are doing the opposite of this.

In fact, earlier this year, game director Zaven Haroutunian explained that the major changes Diablo 4 sees makes it harder for casual players “to keep up”. However, they claimed that major changes are necessary for the genre nowadays.

“It’s almost like a meme at this point about action RPGs in general [that] go through this transformative arc,” the game director said. “And, well, we can’t escape it any more than any other action RPG can for the same reasons.”

So it officially is changes for the sake of changes? Great.

So you are in a hurry to get lied to again with generalized statements and overhype they never intended or have the ability to meet?

No thanks.

I trust that Zaven guy. He has a beautiful neckbeard.

Would they be holding content for a Blizzcon show-off? But then they should correct bugs at least…

“They’re gonna freak out at Blizzcon when we announce… - Brent Gibson.

Assuming MS does not shut everything down.

Diablo 1 Remake!

Right?!

Only thing I want from the Diablo franchise these days. Other than unrealistic “Diablo 5 Souls is coming soon” stuff.

Probably more likely

1.) Diablo Resurrected?
2.) D2R new act?
3.) D3 Warlock if they even care about the D3 players anymore.
4.) D($) already receives regular updates.
5.) D4 rework and break something else?

if we kill all humans then we will have a better species long term (lot less sickness)

…except by then you no longer have humans in the world.
(edit: point was to say sacrificing the current for the future is rarely ever a good thing)

games that kill much of their userbase for long term goals rarely ever work out for the better in end.

the way to do this is open a long term PTR with said changes and allow peopel to test how it is there, then compound your changes there and when your goal is achieved you make it live.

this way you dont force your playerbase away from a game that is incomplete becaseu you want to do multistage changes which make it awful to experience from the start.

Can you try a less unhinged analogy so we still might have a chance of getting a blue reply?

maybe bliz con will announce fatter druids in diablo immortal and d3r (putting diablo 4 graphics in d3)

War Plans are finally Account Wide!!! Yeayyyyyyy!!!

I do not care what the D3 haters say I would pay for that.

As a certified Diablo 3 hater, I would rather have D3 graphics in D4. The graphics was the best thing about the game. It had style at least. D4 kinda just feels so grey-in-brown desaturated. Boring.
