I want more storyline content instead of grinding. Is there a word on Blizzard releasing an expansion or at least DLC which continues the story? I thought D4 campaign was really well done
Given the way this has panned out / flopped sans the upfront costs (I promise the battlepass and cosmetics are selling under expectations compared to the # of folks who picked up the game), I would not be surprised to see them skip expansions in favor of serial releases moving forwards. Diablo 5 may just be the expansion.
december game is dying need a boost
I’ve come up with the “angry like” concept before in this forums, where I like a post but am angry it’s true.
But every force has an opposite. An evil twin. An alternate MCU timeline variant. Enter: the sad like.
I like this post, but am leaky eye socket that it’s true.
Expansion may be announced at Blizzcon.
May being the key word. No idea if it will be. You have a while to wait for it though.
Anyone guess, how much will the 1st expansion for D4 cost?
We paid $100 for D4, so I wonder what price will Blizzard set for the 1st expansion of D4.
Expansions are generally priced cheaper, I’d expect probably around $40-$50
You’re assuming – and it is a VERY likely to be true assumption – that the expansion is going to be equal to or worse than the base product. But it’s still an assumption. If instead by some miracle of Lilith, we get a “Reaper of Souls” level expac for D4 though? Would that, too, be problematic?
You’re also assuming releasing unfinished games is inherently bad. It’s the honesty / expectation angles that we’re missing, here. One of my favorite games, Legion Tower Defense 2, was in early access for like 4 years. It was being sold at full price, on steam, during that time. But, they were HONEST about it being Early Access.
Or look at literally anything Bethesda has ever done. They just released that space thing, right? And it’s a buggy mess. So was Skyrim, so was everything they do. But people EXPECT that of them, so it’s okay (as long as they allow mods).
I never expect Blizzard games to launch smoothly. But I do – I did – expect them to launch when they’re complete. I’m not really agreeing with the “we got scammed” people, I think caveat emptor and buyer’s remorse are the two prime factors here, but at the same time this game is NOT what I expected.
It’s not what WE expected. As a community.
If it gets better, if the xpacs deliver good content? I might buy it. Because the game got better and is getting good content.
But I’m definitely adopting a “wait and see” approach. I don’t care if they offer literal lapdances from Lilith cosplayers as a prebuy bonus. I will NOT be giving blizz any of my money until I see let’s plays of live builds hitting youtube.
Bethesdas buggy messes are typically a good time and a lot of the bugs are comical. D4 is just a slap in the face to play AND buggy
No. You are part of the problem.
If you’re so unhappy with the product, there are a number of other products out there for you to try. Go find one that you like. This one doesn’t have to affect you.
Very unlikely I’ll put anymore money into this hot mess of a game, especially if the expansion adds/fixes things that should have been in the game to begin with.
Game hasn’t been out for 3 months yet. Give it some time. Sheesh.
First expansion, and new story content, is most likely 2025.
Weird way to say D4 shouldnt have been released…
The game doesnt need time, it Needs change at the Dev team…
If you are clueless about the problems of your own product even after an eternity will still be ignorant
Cool beans, I’m apparently a billionaire?
Nothing nonsensical about my reply. I think you might be a little confused. Did you read your post and think it was mine? That’s a quote box. They were your words.
You’re not about to get me to legitimately defend current D4. If I liked what the game is right now I’d still be playing it right now.
But I also loved what D3 BECAME in the last few years. At launch it really sucked. But somewhere along the line they turned it into something I enjoy. And because this is a very low stakes environment for me, I don’t feel like dying on this hill for the sake of higher morals.
D3 sucked and then got better. D4 sucks, it might get better. It might continue to get worse too. But there’s plenty of other things I can do in the interim without worrying the entire gaming industry is going to collapse into a fiery chasm and the biblical Diablo will rise up and burn gamers alive because someone DARED to give BLIZZARD twenty dollars. Ya know what I mean?
You can keep your higher morals. I’ll keep my eye on D4. If it gets better I’ll play. If it doesn’t I won’t.
2 expansions are planned for d4 in 2023 as per google.
Oh man, that is funny !
Summer 2024 would be most likely. Rod at Gamescom said that they already have a dedicated team for the expansion so one year from launch would be a good time.
Start running the side quests the longer ones have additional lore. I was in one the other day and was fighting Andariel again. I was also happy to see the Lyndon for D3 made it into D4.
