When the expansion hits, if you get the $200 collector edition box (doesn’t include the base game or expansion) you’ll get a tiny pin, roughly half an inch wide, shaped vaguely like wings. You can wear this on your clothing all you want.

I think we’ll get wings eventually, but they will be an exclusive of the new class, the spiritborn, which by the look of things will be some kind of fallen angel. So you will need to buy the expansion. I bet the spiritborn will come with a basic set of wings (that will take the slot of the backpack, that’s why we have a backpack slot in the first place), but if you want more glorious-looking wings of the color of your choice then you’ll need to buy cosmetics from the store. In summary, I think this is how the devs are planning to push the sales of the upcoming expansion.

I agree that the leak says about the new Spiritborn class being able to hover or something. Perfect timing to introduce wings cosmetics to the store with the expansion.

As a cosmetic always visible? Hopefully never. As an emote? Yeah why not.
