The likelihood of this ever happening reduced to 0 yesterday after the FTC lost its case and was denied its injunction. Anyone trying to push that narrative is merely trying to stir the pot, at this point.
I don’t see Microsoft putting predatory monetization into Diablo IV.
Not that I think it’s going to happen, but I also don’t recall Microsoft being anti-monetization.
Monetization? Yes.
Predatory monetization? Their portfolio would suggest that it’s not exactly something they dabble in.
I don’t see Microsoft reverting anything that had been established pre-acquisition. I’m saying the likelihood of them adding things predatory is remarkably low. Microsoft has a reputation in the industry right now of being “gamer-friendly.” I can’t imagine they want to soil that.
