I’m going to start with claw, shred, lacerate and blood howl. they worked very well for me in the open beta weekends and server slam. the missing slots i’m not sure yet.
Lightning Storm is my main goal at the moment. I was surprised by it during the Server Slam since I typically dislike any channeled ability in any game. It had a nice flow with resource generation and maintaining the buff. Ended up like it even more than Landslide and I played that during the Open Beta with legendary items.
Smack > Lighting Storm > Smack > Lighting Storm. I like the smack (Storm Strike), too. During bosses, I would maintain the buff and build-up resource then Earthen Bulwark into a long channel.
Looking forward to seeing how it goes with the legendary items and such tomorrow.
mostly will be leveling as pulverize or tornado druid depending on the drops
Played D1 as Warrior, D2 and D3 as Barbs and that’s why I want to try out a caster.
Have coined the Storm Wolf - see my other thread
I’m playing a build based on the best item drops found. I’m not being strategic until I’ve accumulated enough stuff and toyed around with most of it.
I’m going with whatever legendary drops i get. I feel like that’ll be necessary til late game.
Im going storm strike basic, with pulverize and shred cores, cyclone armor, get spirit passive from pets, the bear lunge skill for some mobility and defense and the werewolf ultamite skill with the lightning passives. my build is going to be jank as heck.
My storm chaser build is
storm strike
lighting storm
earthen bulwerk (1/1)
hurricane
cataclysim
perfect storm
and wolves (hoping to get the wolves leggo)
I am going Thor build. Hit enemies with my might hammer mjolnir or big axe Stormbreaker while slapping mobs with lightning inbetween
My Druid also has extra padding on his body from all his baby love fats so he will also be durable on melee range
Currently I’m going with Pulverize, Wolves, Stampede as well. Didn’t go with Poison to increase Pulverize dmg and save a skill slot.
Lacerate’s damage is awful for an ultimate skill even on single target. I tried both lacerate and grizz rage and they’re just subpar. I ended up skipping the ultimate’s completely because of how bad their damage is and went with poison creeper/wolves instead.
I’ve settled on Claw, Shred, Blood Howl, Poison Creeper, Wolves, Rabies and Bestial Rampage for my keystone.
A few days before release I made one on the diablo gg site, and it’s working so far without all the uniques.
The only difference right now, is I’m running Lacerate instead of Grizzly Rage. So I’m using Claw,Cyclone armor, shred, Wolves, Rabies and lacerate
When the build is done (when I get the items and aspects), the Highlights include:
Extra Werewolf buddies who lick light sockets
Being a werewolf as a full time job
Sticking your claws into light sockets before slapping people
Poison
A lot of poison
Seriously, that’s a lot of poison
And a personal AC unit that stops the pain a little
Bulwark, Wolves, Creeper, Ravens, Stormstrike, Landslide
I was lucky enough to get my +1 Companion+Companion Skills damage leggo, as well as one that increases Core Damage per active companion, making Landslide just devastate everything.
Combine this with Envenom, increased Earth damage whenever a Lightning skill is used and Ursine Strength and you can basically delete entire groups with 1 or 2 Landslides and Creeper active.
Initially I played a Storm build, as being a walking thunderstorm was actually cool, but man the damage and survivability was lackluster even when all the abilities had decent synergy.
I tried to run a melee focused werewolf build, but the damage is just awful. Claw, Shred, Rabies (only to spread poison for neurotoxin and it’s linked skills, Lacerate, Bestial Rampage.
I decided to switch to a shifter build bear/wolf and the damage seems a lot better. I dropped lacerate and picked up grizz rage because I got the legendary that lets me shift to a dire werewolf. Shred still feels very weak as a spirit dump.
