Im soloing NM dungeons 10-13 levels ahead of me…I even Solod the Butcher twice above my level…I didnt even gain 1/3 of a paragon point from a NM dungeon and butcher??? Is this a glitch or what? This is consistent…NM dungeons 13 levels above me dont give me anywhere near the exp fromm hell tides or legions…literally gotta do about 13-14 NM dungeons 10=13 levels above me to gain ONE level?
At level 95 I had to do 15. For 96 I think it was 22. It scales rapidly. I stopped counting.
why are you soloing dungeons 13 levels above you?
the best exp/hr is in nm dungeons that are just 3 levels above you, thats the max exp cap for higher level monsters, and its also the easiest to kill monsters. going above that for leveling purposes makes no sense.
Basically what Vampire said, you don’t farm higher level enemies anymore.
Fastest most reliable way to get EXP is to fight things at your level or 3 levels above. If you want to level fast that is.
That changed in 1.1. Instead of +3 being the cap, you get additional experience for monsters all the way to your level +10.
However, in the new formula killing your level +10 only awards 15% additional exp, as opposed to 25% additional for +3 in the old system. So not only does it take longer, you get less for it.
10 levels above is the highest per monster. 15% bonus. Whether it’s the fastest depends on whether you kill 10 levels above at least no more slowly than 10% less fast than +3. Xp/Hr is all that matters really, for leveling characters anyway.

Hard to keep up… first it was a buff then a nerf and then a buff?
Cause I thought they were buffing exp in 1.1.1 and right now in 1.1.0 we got a nerf to exp.
Was a nerf. It was 25% for +3 all the way until they nerfed it hard to 15% for +10. One of their worst changes.
I admit I get so confused on this. And it has changed right? So, if a player is say, level 75, then what would be the most beneficial nm dungeon level to run for xp?

It used to be 3 levels above you gave you +25% bonus XP.
Now its 1.5% per level above you, up to 15% at +10 levels.
So it’s really just a matter of how fast you can clear at X lvls above yours. If it takes 10 minutes for a run +10 levels, and 5 minutes at +3 levels, you’ll be far better off just doing the +3. Just have to find your sweet spot of level vs. clear speed.
Diablo 2 would take you thousands of baal runs to go from 98-99.

Wasn’t the standard that you subtract 50 from your character level then add four if running ancestral levels nmd’s? This is why I get confused. Does that mean for a 75 char, a good nmd would be 29 (if they can run it sufficiently) or is that no longer the case. I’m likely not making sense.
Used to be. They changed bonus XP.
Now the ideal is whatever level above your character that you can farm efficiently, up to +10 levels.

I have noticed this as well. It seems as though XP across all dungeons. It feels like they reverted the 80% xp boost from nightmares. It took 3 hours to get 2 levels spamming Uludr +30 levels above me in the 70s.
Something is up.
And it’s a terrible system that basically forced you into 2 areas since no other monsters even gave xp. A terrible system doesn’t make another crappy system any better

NM level 21 should have level 75 monsters, that is where you should be unless you can kill NM22-31 just as fast.
I was starting to run NM 27/28. Some were tough and took longer, depending on the map/mobs. So darn, I salvaged my 21/22 sigils when I should’ve been running those because they are certainly easier. I already felt I wasn’t progressing enough for a Rogue. Or just that I’m terrible with the class or play style of TB.
Why would you put yourself through that?
Is that really the funnest thing you can do with your time?
