Godroll rares w/ legendary aspects are better than most of this garbage and even some of the super uniques which are basically lottery tickets. It’s just insane. Who designed most of these items and wtf were they thinking?

I think it’s intentional that rares can be the BiS items in the game.
Because they are 100% RNG based and it forces you to pick up every one and look at the stats before selling or salvaging.
It becomes too tedious, and the stat ranges on Ancestral is too wide to even get excited about, because chances are it’s not an upgrade, even if you go 5/5 with them at the Blacksmith.
They need to add a new tier of item quality beyond Ancestral to have better stats.
Uniques being more specialized, and worse than legendaries for builds that arent fully into that specialization seems exactly how unique items should be designed.

Because blizzard just slapped stuff together and called it a game. Art models taken from DI to lighten their work load. Loads of bugs, terrible builds, missing systems and many more

Yeah I think the lack of low and mid level uniques is showcasing an unfinished game.
But the previous post stated it right - tons of rares to sort through and burn time.
They likely have a backlog of a couple dozen uniques they are waiting to release for seasons as well. It seems clear they are prototyping the game and never intended a full release.

I think the bigger problem is that some uniques can roll with such low stats that they are useless even if you play that niche build that was designed around them.
You can only pray that they’re 200k+ when sold. But they’re usually 90-98k.

Because they want to keep adding new unique items each season. So they start with a few crap ones and then they make them slightly better each season so you spending hours searching for the “upgrade” wash, rinse, repeat.
And D4 is the kind of thing we get when mega corporations hire based on victim points instead of making a good game. So thanks a lot, I hope blizzard making billions of dollars off of a diversity project helps you feel like you’ve dismantled privilege somehow.

It’s because in the game’s current state, there are 4 solo builds:
1 uber lilith
2 nm100
3 farm
4 pvp
A few uniques fit in for some classes for nm100/lilith kills.
More uniques fit in for power gains farming.
You would see way more builds using uniques if it was easier to respec and build around them. Right now it is too tedious to switch and experiment, and hard to see the real gain/loss by using those instead of a decently rolled item+aspect.
people have made some interesting builds around uniques that were considered vendor loot. But for me personally I’m not dumping 15 million gold and respeccing around a unique just to see if i gain a few seconds or tiers in a nm farm build.

Uniques should be the rare items with the aspect rolls, Legendary Items should be the unrollable items with locked affixes
Unique refers to the idea that the item has the same stat lines on every version of the item, with a unique aspect and sometimes unique stat lines…
If you’re considering D2, yes, uniques were the legendaries, but this changed in d3.
In Diablo3 parlance common → magic → rare → legendary, ancient legendary, primal ancient legendary → (a few seasonal / temporary items that were effectively uniques)

The itemisation in this game is sheit to begin with.
To many stats , to many ussless stats , witch turns into basicly either you use 3 stats on gear either your a looser ( crit chance , crit dmg , vul). the rest are just there for the namesake.
Resistance is dead , and whit that core game mechanic they even sed they will not fix it until season 2 . The game should not have been released whit this core issue.

Uber uniques are to rare to even bother … you want a lotery game blizzard or somthing to keep you glued to the seat!!! (nerf the drop rates on those uber uniques) it can be the best unique in the game if you cant find it its ussless.
In my opinion emfesis on MY OPINION , aspects should not be extractable… it takes away the wow factor of a legendary drop… if any rare can become a legendary then the term legendary simply becomes …normal… as in expected to be… I see no pleasure in aplying legendary status on any item you chose worthy . Randomisation is better in this case. Random aspect whit radom stats on random item ( whit the crafting posibility to chance a stat but not the aspect.)At least then a legendary truly is a legendary.
Alass there are still so many issues whit this game and blizzard chosing not to take action imediatly only fhurters the frustration of the playerbase (that will gradualy drop) and no season bolox is gonna save it.
Well, whoever they had in charge of creating items didn’t really understand the classes they were designing them for. It’s not hard to see how bad the items were before the game even launched. You didn’t need to play the game, you just needed to look at the items and the talent trees.

First off the names are backwards.
And using different words for the same thing like slashing and slicing.
