Whats the point

why do the devs think making a boss a health sponge is fun. I’m on torment 2 got alzeroth the guy on the 3 headed dog to half health in a hour of doing the fight i just gave up.so what’s the point I kill everything else in one too two shot them but not the trash bosses like come on this doesn’t make me want to continue playing then on top of that i haven’t gotten any gear upgrades since i started to get the 800 item level gear but even with full set still cant do anything so why should i play if i cant do anything to the bosses

Blizz wants you to follow a sponsored build guide because playing your own way is fun, and fun is against their hidden ToS.

If you gear/build properly bosses fall over.

especially in early torment.

Was talking about this with one of my brothers on the phone the other day. Was actually in T2 as well, fighting Astaroth, and ran into this same problem. I could decimate normal enemies and elites, even NMD bosses at that difficulty, but the Astaroth fight was overtuned in the same way as the Lair Bosses. It feels like you’re meant to fight them when you’re actually capable of the tier above. That’s well enough for the Lair Bosses because you just fight them by themselves as a one-off, but doing the same with the final fight of a 3 dungeon sprint seems like inviting people to run headlong into a brick wall pretty frequently. Seems like he could be toned down a bit. :v:

That’s not the point, the point is just when the game gets about feeling right bosses have thousand times more HP than every other elite you’ve faced, and in the other way round when boss fights start feeling about right you 1-shot obliterate everything (or maybe a few if elite has a shield)

It’s as if they deliberately force players to search for “overkill” instead of just focus on playing and advancing in the game

I’ll also say that the scaling between elites and normal monsters feel about right until lvl30-35, from 45 onward is as if they deliberately “handicap” every non-elite (and non-minion) monster in the game OR make elites and (again minions, i.e. the ones that have “Increased Health” tag) have that much more HP instead

I was never a fan of that, it’s like forcing people into playing for the sake of task completion instead of just let them play

I wonder what the difference between you and how other people played/beat this game, especially on Torment II… :man_shrugging:

One more thing, I think theyre’s also some problems with math of survival

Not sure how or why but after I increased my HP from 8k to around 12k it was an entirely different tune

At 8k I was getting one-shot in a boss fight or a very close to that, at 12k I could tank 3 hits almost in a row

I mean I know I beefed up but definitely didn’t increase my tankiness by 300% (of that I’m sure)

Something’s off :person_shrugging:

Edit: it was the Resistances nvm, changed pants into Tassets and Res. now went from 69% to 80%+ lol (which kinda proves my point when I initially was saying that Res. should probably cap at 60% otherwise it becomes too steep of a differential)
