I haven’t seen any new items show up after the refresh. It’s just thes same cosmetic items being cycled over and over. There should be something new on on the refresh so that there’s a reason to check the store.

The point is to make people want to buy things in the moment (impulse decision making).
It only works if you have items people actually desire and enough new items to keep triggering the need to buy in the moment.
Right now the items are so few that the rotation system is pointless and the items are no better than what is already available in game.
Not that I am advocating for this but if you want to drive a cosmetic in game store;

Make the items highly desirable (lightning swords, flaming staves etc).

Add new items on a weekly basis, or multiple sets at the start of a new month.

Make some items ‘limited time’ only and allow item trading.

Pay closer attention, it definitely changes, each time. There just isn’t a very large pool of sets right now so some sets stay and others rotate in.
They’ve literally said that things rotate back around. Numerous times. There is nothing that is limited time only.
The point is to highlight different items rather than have some hiding in the bottom of the list.

How are the headstones not class-wide? It’s a tombstone…
Whenever stuff leaves the recommended section, it just ends up back in the other categories, so if they think they’re creating fomo, they would be wrong.
Create FOMO. That’s the whole entire reason.
Its falling flat for now but that could be intentional for the moment. Some executive at Blizzard will decide they need to make some ultra legendary set that costs $50 and is only available for 3 weeks…suspect they are a little too scared to do that just yet - its coming through.

What is the point of the shop in general…
Yeah, I don’t think that many people are buying the shop items. I almost never saw them around while playing. Destiny 2’s shop items meanwhile are popular with players.
