What's the point of having this new fun Helltide?

…When you still have to slave yourself in those awful nightmare dungeons for glyph XP? My build uses 7 glyphs, that means my entire leveling experience has been just one ND after the other to level up those damn glyphs. So the only time I had fun in the new helltide was during tier 2 at the start, and by the time I’m done with glyphs I should be doing the Pit, there has to be a way to gain glyph xp in Heltides.

Who knew the grindy/headache inducing paragon boards would be a bad idea. Probably, everyone.

It’s funny, I feel the opposite way and am bored to tears of helltide trying to increase iron wolves rep. I actually prefer running NM dungeons to running helltide over and over again. I’ve leveled a few glyphs to lvl 9 but end up spending most of my time in helltide for the seasonal reputation and seasonal challenges.

I’ve taken the route of grinding to 100 in helltide then doing glyphs at tier 80+, rather than level in nm dungeons from tier 20+.

It’s like just a few nm dungeons per glyph at 80+.

I’m minion necro so I just face roll Helltide boss farming without lvl 15 glyphs anyways.

Funny, I feel the opposite. Helltides are easy, boring and laggy; all overworld content is. Instanced NM dungeons run well, however; and you can scale them to where they’re actually somewhat engaging.

Spamming NM dungeons is way more fun than helltide.

I’ve had fun running with my guild-mates in NMD. All my 5 glyphs are 21 and I have 3 others at 21. It hasn’t been remotely bad. It’s more fun with play mates when we’re all laughing on Discord chat.

You know you can take a break from NMD and run Helltides any time you like, right? The season’s 3 months long…

The glyph XP especially with the season blessings is MUCH faster. It’s really not too bad at all IMO. I can bring one from 0-15 very quick, and even to 21 it’s not much of a grind.

Different things have different purposes. It’s been a nice break from helltides to run some nightmare dungeons for glyphs. And the amount of glyph XP you get now is really nice. At higher tiers you can get 2-3 glyph levels per run to get your glyphs from 15 to 21 real fast

Didnt feel bad imo. Got 7 glyphs to 15 while doing a bit of lvling in the 80-90s.
Most time before that was in Helltides.

That said, all activities should offer all kinds of progression rewards. One should just be best at each reward. So NMDs if you want efficient glyph XP, but you also get some of it from Pit, Helltide, Whispers.
Run Pit if you want efficient Masterworking, but you also get some of those mats from NMD, Helltide, Whispers. And so on.
And increase the available difficulties for Helltide and Whispers so they are more like NMD and Pit.

I wouldn’t say either of them are fun. But yeah, Helltides are held back by the low difficulty.

Took me a bit over1 hr today to level 7x glyphs to 2 - 21… glyph xp is ridiculously fast now.

Yep. Start leveling them at the higher levels and they get done pretty quick. Glyphs are even faster to level now thanks to the ashes.

You only have to run like 3 Level 50 NM dungeons per glyph if you do your NM dungeon grind later.

Helltide to 80 → Run 15 NM dungeons → Job Done in around two hours.

Glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. Let us passively level glyphs in Helltides. The moment I have to step foot in a nightmare dungeon is always the moment I first start considering quitting a season.

I just want to get to helltides, but I must level my glyphs as a prerequisite grind. And nightmare dungeons are the most unfun arpg content I’ve ever played. At least put the bosses at the middle point instead of making us do two back tracky dungeons at the same time.

I personally always prioritize the seasonal content and then worry about the rest. I never know how much I’ll play a given season so I try to get through that content first.

What’s awful about them? I had lots of fun pushing high nightmare dungeons.

Helltides are easy, you don’t even need to put a single paragon point in your build or socket a single glyph and you can still faceroll through them. I haven’t died in a Helltide since I got to WT4 at level 50 and tried to solo the helltide summon boss.

Run Helltide to level 80 → Run 15 NM dungeons → Job Done in around two hours.

Terrible idea. Helltide is already the best source for legendaries and mats, why on earth would you want to make it content that rewards literally everything you need? I like doing nightmare dungeons and taking a break from helltide while still getting rewarding upgrades feels great.

Yeah, Diablo is an easy franchise. It’s about pulling a slot machine lever. I’m not saying eliminate NM dungeons. I’m saying don’t force me in there as a prerequisite grind. Anyone can make the game as hard as they want. Push the pit if you want. Push the highest NM dungeons as you want. Just don’t force gear progression thru there.

Challenge isn’t the issue with NM dungeons anyway. They are boring and back tracky. I don’t play diablo to run back and forth empty tunnels with items to put on pedestals.

Do things and get stuff.
