The super, duper, ultra, special, once in a life time Uniques that everyone wants to have drop once every 200m hours played . They might as well not exist. I’m 100. I’ve done NM100, Uber Lilith and I farmed for hundreds of hours. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for me to have seen one or two drops.
The idea that an item, which can’t be traded, is more rare than hitting the lottery jackpot is asinine. I have no idea what was the descision of making the drop rate so low. To me that’s just a waste of development time, as these items might as well not exist. 2 confirmed drops in 400m hours played is simply stupid drop rate.
it’s a nice thing that it’s not tradeable otherwise it would simply lead to people selling it for money and that’s about it : for what would be traded the rarest item in the game ? for less rare items ? no.
as for the rarity well see it like the golden chocolate factory ticket ; you might win it or not , very small chance but you’ll be very happy if it does.
a big like the few unique ring that were released on the magic the gathering cards recently , a few chosen one will get it.
i do like that aspect personally, i know i’ll probably never get it, and i don’t mind never getting it as it doesn’t enable any build anyway.
i’am just happy to know something so rare exist even if i never get it.
(and if i happen to find it i’ll be delighted of course , like winning a lottery ticket)
but that’s my view on it anyway (though i saw quiet a few sharing that view too)
If its not tradable just don’t make it super uniques. Its simple as that.
Game is literally a single player without trading option. Why not give people chance to have them while they are playing the game ? Most of the players are not gonna play the game for months. Many already quit. Also there are seasons which makes normal characters obsolete since none will care.
Make uber uniques more acessible to the general public, biring new uniques each season just for that season alone that can still be used once you move your character out of season.
Rare items are rare, news at 11.
You’re not entitled to an item just because you hit level 100 and did content at that level. Make do without them. You’ll manage.
These items aren’t rare. There is a difference between a rare item dropping once every 500h of play and something that drops every 200m hours of play.
They literally might as well not exist and the nobody would notice. There is no point to have development time taken away from the game into creating items that don’t drop, in a loot based game.
because they overrate there own game and think its something special and when someone get the items he tweets about it and the game is trending.
100% more then one of the item has dropped for someone and he doesnt give a fu about it.
maybe he even doesnt realise it and vendors the item.
That’s the point. The excitement when you get one. It is even bigger.
And you won’t start making a build around it unless you already have one.
When a drop requiers 200m hours of play, you will never get excited by a drop, because it won’t drop . Seems counterintuitive to make it rare for the sake of excitment, when it would literally never drop for 99.9999999999% of the players.
Being a teenager.
i xped also til 100 and never seen any of those super rare items.
the funny thing is- you reached lvl100 too and also completed nm100, without any of those super unique items.
this means= youve done with the game even w/o them so no point of playing- because why bother to invest even more xxx h of playing for items which you dont need because you finished the game anyway?

Uhhh…
They are rare, they can drop once you’re over level 85, something that Blizzard recently clarified.
Just because they’re not dropping for you and those you know, doesn’t mean they’re not dropping.
That’s like saying “Invincible isn’t a rare mount, it might as well not exist.” because it hasn’t dropped for you despite running ICC 500 times. It’s rare, it just hasn’t dropped for you yet.
What is 200m hours? YOu mean 200 Million? If yes…just because you make up a number, that doesn’t mean that number is valid.
It is still RNG.
You ever played D2? Since people here all cry about why D4 isn’t like D2…there you have it.
Remember when you had to do hundreds and thousends of Countess runs to get that one rune you needed or just as much Baal Runs? The entire endgame of D2 was to do countess runs. With no progress for dosens or hundreds of hours.
2 drops in 400m hours of play. They are not dropping for anyone. Not me, not my friends, not the streamers who play the game for a living, not the streamers’ community of tens of thousands of players.
D2 has trade. No matter how rare Tyrael’s might is, it can be traded.
The devs confirmed that Diablo 4 has been player around the world for 400 million hours. That’s not a made up number and there are only 2 confirmed Shako drops. One is South Korea and 1 in Russia.
It’s just to keep people engaging with the content and aiming towards an unreachable goal until the season launch.
Same reason why they made level 100 such a chore at launch.
Keep people engaging with the content???..??? Are you serious right now? Only 2 of these chase items have been found in over 400 MILLION hours of play time from 100s of 1000s of people over level 85 grinding constantly.
The items need to be in the game for everyone to enjoy not some china/korean bot farmer. Also it wasnt a chore to get to level 100 you clearly dont know what you are talking about.
How about … they will do whatever they want and you have a choice to either play it their way or not at all?
I mean, you could otherwise make your own game…
This is the cop out of “I have no argument against your critisism”. “Just don’t play it, bruh”.
My guess is that there are supposed to be more common once WT5 will be added. They will probably add some new super uniques only available for WT6 for another season, etc… They are 820 ilvl and i never drop a 820 rare, so a unique…
But peoples claiming it’s a chase item and we don’t know how many drops, simply have 0 logic and math gaps.
