What's the poin of this Malignant Heart for Sorcs? 🙄

I don’t want to mention here that the Sorc got gutted with the latest patch, we all know it and already mentioned it in another topic.

But follow class specific Malignant Heart for Sorcs is the icing on the cake in terms of messing around with the playerbase of this class:

  • Spellbreaking (Brutal, Defensive): After taking Elemental damage, gain 20-40% Resistance to that element for 5 seconds.

I mean first of all you nerfed the defense of all classes without considering that the defense of the Sorc (Ele Resistances) doesn’t work propperly atm, bcs it will be fixed in season 2.

So Sorcs are prety much glass canons now and doing the least endgame damage at the same time.

And now you give us a season 1 mechanic that won’t work because this mechanic in particular (Ele Resistances) won’t be fixed before season 2.

Where are the quality checks Blizzard?..Can anyone tell the responisible developer team pls that Ele Resistances don’t work atm bcs it seems that this team don’t play the game by themself and just use the same numbers as for other classes.

Or maybe with the new scaling and changes with season 1. They needed to tone down all classes.

I mean lets trust Blizzard and see if they know what they doing. If they nerf too much they will adjust.

They have data that we don’t. So it is fine.

Tone down but also include a “game breaking crazy mechanic that will make you feel like god and be super powerful”

This is a risk of parallel development.

They made S1 not knowing that resistance were bugged, and S1 was locked by the time the game launched. They simply couldn’t afford to pull a few people off of working on S2 or the expansion to address a few of the resistance-based designs for S1 because that would impact their timelines!

Really, Blizzard doing so much parallel development at once (live game, S2, S3, maybe S4, and Expansion 1, Expansion 2) at once is just setting themselves up to have these problems continually pop up as they’re unable to be agile and respond to them in a meaningful time.

Hence why sorc resistance changes are stuck in S2, because they had to meet the mid-July S1 launch date lest they throw timelines off for S2, 3, 4 and their expansions.

Does this mean that they planed already that those gems will be fully implemented to the game in eternal realm and in seasons after?

malignant hearts are gonna disappear when your season 1 character goes core, no seasonal gear will go to eternal period right now.

I did not expect much in the way of major mechanic fixes and anything to give this game direction. But, I have to say, the changes were an interesting read. Apologies to the sorcs in advance.

The thing is they told us that they MIGHT keep season mechanic if it will be successful. Definition of successful is unclear and we can assume that it has already been successful LOL cuz of existence of this gem. Maybe i’m wrong but who knows?

When it comes to having data, and changing the game. I will trust them in that. If the changes are not fun, than I will trust them to fix that also.

I know many of you are new, but this is a service game. Things will change.

But they also told us on the same stream and patch notes that these season 1 mechanics won’t make it to the eternal realm.

MAybe you missed the information but Elemental Resistances dones’t work atm and will not be fixed before season 2.

Ele Resistance does nothing atm…nada, null, nijet, nista, nix…It’s a placeholder.

But Ele Resistance is the main defense source of Sorcs…and they don’t have that many Armor skills to chose from.

With the latest patch they took even those away, so Sorcs have almost no armor sources and have 1 defense layer less than other classes…they simply didn’t consider that the defense source of Sorcs (Ele Resistances) don’t work atm.

Ofc they need to tone down all classes, but the other classes have at least other working defense sources while doing so.

They told us right here on these notes.

I am so tired of seeing this. Elemental resists work as designed, they were just designed poorly. They are just bad to invest in relative to other damage mitigation sources. All of your elemental resist sources are calculating correctly, applying the elemental penetration of WT4 correctly, and successfully reducing damage of that element correctly.

Eh, not really buying it. These nerfs/buffs weren’t in progress months ago, they were made in response to what’s happening in the actual live game. They don’t seem to have a problem implementing sweeping changes, as long as they’re to the detriment of the player.
