Is it whispers? Blood seekers are one shotting me and taking 5-6 attempts. I couldn’t beat the first pull in a level 21 ancestral dungeon.
I guess it is fun, should i just enjoy the difficulty it while it lasts?
I went back to wt3 and did some nightmare dungeons, the xp gain was so slow it was really hinting that not the right approach.
Thanks for any tips.
I did my capstone at lv 63. I had to run around the blood events opeing chests and quickly picking stuff up.
Once you have the wepons you need you will crush everything. Make sure you do world bosses and legion events.
If you have the gear check your build/paragon points.

Well, instead of thinking about leveling, try looking at what you are needing.
Are your glyphs maxed? If not, then run the NMD’s to get them leveled.
Have gear you want to enchant or level? Then run a few helltides to get the roses and forgotton souls.
Want potentially much better gear? Hit up a world boss.
Waiting for a worldboss/helltide to pop? If you know the timing then run a NMD or a few whispers til the timer is done. Even a legion or two will work.
Feeling like taking a serious chance? GO to the PvP zones and try and farm some dust.
Plus, if you are seasonal, you have the seasonal stuff you can complete.
Basically, leveling will happen as you go, just do stuff. There is in reality no BEST thing to do.

I recommend using levels 72 and 74 as stepping stones…
J/K. For the jump to WT4 some people have recommended building up a bunch of seeker keys in WT3, then go WT4 Blood Harvest and just ride around and open a bunch of seeker caches until you have some ancestral gear to fit.

Yeah i did the capstone at 70. My gear is all sacred except for a not so spectacular ancestral staff, so trash just takes 1.5 extra heartbeats to melt, its just any elite mob not so much.
I don’t have any other ancestral gear apart from the weapon, and resistances between 0 and 10 (they were much higher in wt3 for some reason).
Also while its hard at 71… i have a feeling by 73 its going to be easy again, factoring resistances.
Okay, whispers / green helltides it is, thanks.
This is because Tier 3 and 4 each have mobs that ignore more resistance. Tier 3 subtracts 25 points from them, and it is 50 for Tier 4.

Worse case follow around someone in blood harvest on your horse. You will get XP just for being near them.

Im okay. Im playing cracking charged bolts sorc which is very effective still against trash. Worse case would be expecting to die on elites for a few levels.
Believe it or not… given the 1-70 experience, i swelled up with positivity the third time i died in wt4. Its like shaking off a fog of mindlessness and having some fun. I did manage to beat those blood seekers in the end. I even tried another set straight after and it was fairly annoying twice in a row though.
Upgrade your gear and make sure your resistances are above 70.
I am 61 in WT4 right now on Sorc (not BL) I don’t die in the blood harvests/TOW. That is probably where you will level quickest and get a lot of Legendary Affixes also.
As for NM21 I am about to do one right now (or after the WB).
If your resistances are too low you will get one shot. And going from WT3 to 4 there is a big penalty where most will be very low unless you address it explicitly.
Add me in game Irres-1198 if you want, I am also playing my Tal Rasha build which uses charged bolts.

Just in case… i took option c… swapped out charged bolts for ball lightning.
…
You no longer need ancestral gear in wt4…
This is the first time i’ve gotten into an arpg proper, but this feels like a scam. The game shouldn’t one shot me, requiring me to cheat. The game then shouldn’t provide that cheat, completely deleting the game system it had offered me before i cheated.
This isn’t fun, the whole concept is broken. Cheat to avoid the game mechanics, with cheats consciously built and tested by the developer every patch. Really?
Wait, should i be greatful that i don’t have to pay for the cheat… that looks so precisely built for pay to win they just chose to leave off the payment part.
I told you how to stop from getting one shot. This game is about gear. And understanding how damage works.
I understand how to do it myself. The point is with ball lightning the enemies are dead quicker than having the chance to do their own damage this not requiring ancestral gear anymore, at least while i make up the gap to 75.
It feels like nothing changed really and the same gearing that was happening in wt3 is just continuing at about the same pace.
True enough, but on the other hand your own choices went from one extreme to the other. I like charged bolts myself in the early game, but they’re not an efficient hard-target choice in later game. Nor is crackling energy.
So you chose a trash-clearing build and perhaps had been using too much +Damage affixes to make it smoother, without enough +Life, +armor, +resistance etc. Then you jumped to a tier that needs better gear but didn’t have it. Then you “cheated” by swapping to a mechanic that’s currently OP.
The game has problems and roadblocks yeah but this is a player choice thing. You could have beefed up defenses and gone for a slower Hydra/Firewall match (still not best for hard target/elites but workable). Or an Ice Shards/Blizzard combo. And Ball Lightning would likely have worked even in non-broken state as long as you focused affixes on the correct stats and not looked to be boosting crackling energy (one of the lowest damage sources).
At what point? Yes i do use 2x 7/5 hydra (for mana and kiting backups), and blizzard as well including the damage reduction aspect. Didn’t help. No i didn’t go for resistances at all in wt3 (but collected enough of them by accident, i was 30+ or more in all of them in wt3).
I’ve been paying more attention to those blood seekers as well, its the rogues and poison if ive been cc’ed or walled, and the tornadoes that one shot me. Everything else gives me what i consider a fair enough chance to do something about it. Ie, 2 shots me. That’s the definition of a gear check though i guess.
What its not that bad of a build. I’m a bit dubious that its all working, but i seem to have 2.5 sources of element damage multipliers, another 15 for crackling is often there, and err maybe its the 6 points in glass cannon. Shouldn’t be that bad
As others have already stated, you need to upgrade your gear. But still, you shouldn’t be getting one shot at this point, regardless of your gear. This sounds like you’ve been going full glass cannon rather than keeping a good balance of offense and defense.
Your chest and pants right now should probably both have +Total Armor to them. Perhaps your amulet and cap as well. When you look at your armor, until you level up a bit, you want at armor to give you at least 50% damage reduction (not the stat, but if you hover over armor, how much it will reduce it by).
what i would do OP is farm up a bunch of blood (if wt3 if thats easier for you) and when you have about 300-450, do a shout in trade channel (I think everyone sees that) - wt4 blood lure farm - summoning 2 or 3 rounds…
what this will do for you is gain a ton of xps and clear some whispering tree quests at the same time as each blood lure summons will get you at least 2 bloodseekers (which others will destory) and most likely the other one that is +5 whisper points. Not to mention ancentral gears that will easly put you into wt4 solo ability.
From there just do all the legion events you see when they happen and always… i mean ALWAYS use a pot and an inscense for that extra 10% xps boost (5% for pot and 5% for incense)
or… wait a few days when we get 35% exp boost and dont sweat it!
I did Domhainne Tunnels on wt4 until I felt like I was ready for nmd
From there I did full nmd until 100
When you first enter WT3 or WT4, that is the toughest part of the game because you are so underequipped. I just did whispers and got into some world boss fights until I got a nice ancenstral weapon. I would not worry about being a burden on world bosses any more, as they get thrashed by the 100s running Ball Lightning or HoTA anyway. But once your get some ancestral gear, you will be fine. Going back to WT3 is just not enjoyable or rewarding at that point.
Hello!
Im a summoner necro, and my play changed when I followed a guide + stopped my search for “great items” and went for “good” ones.
The guide for the paragon board is great. Its a good way to be efficient with point used to have GLYPH and priorization of attack/defense, because I really didnt put to much mental effort in comprehend the boards. I went for defensive GLYPH for me and minions (second power in the glyph generally).
The nuke power come with the weapon and your main stat (INT) + main characteristic (LUCKY CHANCE) in my case. All the crap about crit, vulnerability, stun, overpower… go for it only if the equipment give you the nuke power and the guide stats references.
I believe you are underlevel right now at 63. The item level in weapon is important, some times the stats are crap, but the damage is soo great to ignore. In my opinion GLOVES and BOOTS can be lv 45+ but with great stats (crit, lucky chance, damage, speed, utilities, etc), because the change in ItemLV is not great.
Make sure you do world bosses and legion events, and the boss at the Whisper Tree is not-to-difficult and give great items.

Ancestral is easy, once you get to W4, gets to worldbosses. Try and stand around for the 100 to 3 shots the boss then loot
