Is there something that will explain to me what I am supposed to be doing with this spider? What is the point of it?
It seems that Blizzard and D4 is getting worse as the seasons progress. This D4 is going to be the end of Blizzard for me.

You unlock stones for it. One type has abilities that can attack or buff you. You can use 2 if these stones. The other stones enhance those 2 main stones. As you do the new content, vaults and the stuff in the various open world areas you’ll level these stones up.
They become quite powerful. For example my current stones give me 20x damage that’s up all the time and also gives me fortify. The other attacks every 0.9 seconds, doesn’t do much damage but every time it attacks it gives me 20 fury, breaks barriers on mobs and makes them vulnerable 100% of the time and grants me 15% damage reduction.
I could configure them differently and probably will but for now this setup works for me. But if set up right, and you yourself are sufficiently strong, they can solo bosses. Some can even do billions of damage but I suspect that’s a bug that will be fixed.
Now do I think you were really asking? No, you’re probably just trolling. But this answer was for the benefit of anyone that actually be genuinely curious.
In my opinion the pet is not as visually appealing as the vamp powers last season but the powers it gives you are arguably as good or better.

This is where I am at as well.
Adrenaline and duration and CD and Safeguard.
Then tempest arc break fortify. This type of tempest setup lets u use exploit glyph well and there are not many glyph for meteor build.
i mean if you arent willing to invest time to figure out what the construct does, i guess you are in the wrong game mode?
i mean, do you expect people here to show you guides beacause you are too lazy to figure out how to play the season?

@OP it takes a bit to level the stones so just plug stones in, the descriptions do a decent job. I would say try them all.
I use:
It gives you additional seasonal powers via the bot instead of you getting it directly.

I am genuinely asking. I get the basics as you have explained so thanks for that.
I didn’t realize that the spiders can actually do good damage with the correct setup. So will continue to experiment with them.
As for Nuyrel, thank you for the kindness you exhibited here. I expected that someone would post exactly your type of attitude. Anyone who is genuinely offering their help I will thankfully accept. Do you not consider asking on the D4 forums as doing research and attempting to find the answers? I don’t see it as being lazy so we have different attitudes about that.
The more information that is gained and discovered is always welcome, and I am willing to bet that there is at least one other person out there that will find the helpful replies here well, helpful.
My apologies then. There’s been quite a few trolls around the pet this last week.
It’s very powerful. I use it to buff and heal me but it can solo duriel if you spec it to.

before u assumed all that would be good to ask if OP had completed the questline and needed urther clarification or if your pessimstic presumptions are valid

I have not completed the season questline. I have only 2 of the journals so have not been past that point yet. So far I have not attempted to continue from there as I wanted to get into Nightmare dungeons. I am level 52 and so far haven’t gotten a ND drop from the Whispers yet which I thought was a bit odd. Who knows maybe I missed it somehow.
