i have 50k+ life, full resist cap, masterwork armors and wepons, with full stacks of Dark Shroud and being just hit killed for the first hit i take, includinding by the elite summons of the ice beast
You have to watch the ground in the tormented version. There are fat lines that appear under you, and then is one line that is clear. You need to stand in that clear line section or icy wind blows and will 1 shot you.
There are some other mechanics that ignore you defense that you have to dodge or your dead.
It is harder than either Duriel or Andariel my opinion.

Iāve lost 2 HC character to Tormented Beast in Ice one shots. One from the Beast himself, another from the Old Cankerhide add. Both HC chars had max masterwork and at least 50k health, full 50k barrier, and 5 dark shroud at time of death. No debuffs either. Definitely bugged. Sucks. I fought T Beast like 30 other times with no issue, so itās definitely some unique set of circumstances that trigger the bugged damage.
i assume you arent telling the truth about your hc char stats. beast in the ice has been fixed. he did pack quite a punch early in the season tho.
he got fixed along with the desecrator of the infernal hordes, who also really hit quite heavily.

But yeah the obviously broken stuff with Beast was fixed like Nyurei said.
The safer assumption is that thereās a newly emerged or re-emerged bugged interaction since the hotfix (for example patches have caused previously patched bugs to re-emerge), if simply because this has been reported a few times since the hotfix. The safer safer assumption is that shoreTide is referring to characters lost before the hotfix.
tbh the fight itself is really bad/weird, the spikes going everywhere except in one lane, the weird spikes falling off from up above that can barely be seen, e.t.c.
Iāve had an idea for a while that perhaps damage should get reworked a bit and then added perimeter penalty to it so āscratchesā donāt do the full damage amount, in fact Iām quite positive that the game would be better if:
1 - no more telegraphing damage
2 - area damage (of all kinds) gains a perimeter penalty
3 - the only things telegraphed will now be CC attacks (such as know the wall is gonna rise or know when gonna get charged before it happens)
4 - since no longer quite telegraphed shadow boss damage amount reduced
Thatās what kinda personally Iād do (think it would be cooler way for the game, it will feel more natural/re/actionary rather than āfloor is lavaā wavelike approach)
Then with the perimeter penalties I think the spikes & stuff from the Beast would not be as much of a big problem as are now

If you have good damage you can kill the tormented beast within 1-2 seconds.
If you have good defense and accidently get in the beast fight phases it can smash you against the outer ring etc⦠you wont die.
First of all should never happen, secondly is not a solution
