I’ll probably get to level 100 this season, but there are at least 3 quests on the final level of the seasonal journey that look pretty much unattainable to me (short of getting carried) given that I’m not massively skilled and I’m also not willing to put in a massive grind to get the best possible equipment.
These quests are:
- Defeat Echo of Lilith in World Tier 4
- Defeat Tormented Echo of Andariel
- Defeat Tormented Echo of Duriel
Being that only two quests can be left incomplete while still completing the chapter, it looks like I won’t finish the journey.
Anyway, I’m just curious what people think? Do people think that the seasonal journey ought to be designed so that most people who get to level 100 can finish the seasonal journey without getting carried? Or do people think it should be designed to require serious work post-100 and even then a high level of skill?
Please don’t respond saying “It’s easy, it’s a skill issue.” That’s not what this post is about. I’m curious about how people think the seasonal journey should be designed.

So many other quests to do… why just put the hardest ones here? you do NOT have to do all of them.
There’s still two full months until Season 5. Are you planning to quit playing in a few weeks?
The base season journey, I totally agree, I think they went a little overboard.
Now, if we’re talking the Feats of Strength: Soudeh the Anvil’s Staunchest Ally, then I’d say leave in one or two hard achievements.
Personally, I still think including Lilith is a mistake.
you can only leave 2 out - if you look at the Journey itself, inevitably you will need to either kill Uber Lilith, either Tormented Uber duriel or Tormented uber andy…
This is likely an oversight on blizzard end, I don’t know how they expect majority of player base to achieve it unless they plan to massively nerf these fights later on.
I was only able to kill TOrmented uber andy and duriel… and I can’t do Lilith , not alone anyway.

They are reasonable. I got to lv 100 in about 10 hours of gameplay. Just finished the season journy (100% with hidden achievement) and it hasnt been out for 2 weeks. Only thing left is to climb the pit.
Tormented duriel is not all that hard as long as you can avoid the poison explosion thing he does and the stuff that bursts out of his stomach the fight is pretty straight forward.
You can only skip two per chapter, and there are three quests that I listed. So have to do at least one of those hardest three.
Generalization fallacy. I’m not arguing for a change, but this (I did it, so it’s balanced) misses the point of the OP, who is asking “what proportion of 100s would complete it?” Something Blizzard is interested in imo, and if I know them at all, they probably don’t want that % to be very low.
You can’t use you as a measuring stick to everyone else out there. There are a lot of people struggling with either of those 3 fights. Even with proper build. There is a lot of RNG involved in this game, and add on top gold is very hard to come by for a casual to medium casual player.
something has to be done by blizzard to address this for the mass.
That’s actually not relevant to the question. The question was whether someone who gets to level 100 with normal level 100 equipment should be able to finish the journey, not whether someone who grinds for the best equipment for 2 months after getting to level 100 should be able to finish the journey.
So what do you think? Should players be able to to complete the seasonal journey with baseline level 100 equipment and only a moderate level of skill? Or should it require a higher level of skill and a significant grind post-100 (assuming no carries)?
I was done with the season journey looooooong before 100. Pro-tip: 61 is all ya need.
The journey should be designed in a way that can be completed by I would say everyone… literally everyone. So, yes, I think this is def going to be an issue.
I think after the 11th day of season you will be stronger and maybe able to do it later on. Whine more. Game is so easy atm I click 2 buttons. OH wait you want to be done in a week… Maybe not this time.
11 days into season. I think not. Play the game OR find another game that you can achieve that in 11 days of a season. My wine cellar is getting full.
I want to try and finish the seasonal journey. I’m building a druid simply to kill an Uber. Uber kills are probably too much of an expectation for a seasonal journey imo.
did you drop your head when you a kid ? you sound toxic AF…

I doubt I will complete given the choices. I have completed all the other seasons minus lilith, so If I have to kill her or 1 of the other uber bosses most likely I won’t make it this season.
Anyway, to speculate about the answer.
I don’t have the stats, so I can’t give you a definitive answer. But we can estimate looking at the console, which keeps track of achievements. Not the Xbox, because that’s on Game Pass, so there are a ton of new players, which make the following numbers look significantly worse, so let’s look at the PlayStation version of Diablo 4, where everyone had to buy the game.
Only 14.4% of the people who bought Diablo 4 on the PlayStation have upgraded the potion the entire way (which requires Level 90).
Only 5.3% of the players have defeated Uber Lilith.
And both of these are the entire lifetime of the game, not just this season.
Now, granted some of the players stay in Eternal, and many aren’t currently playing the game. But, if I had to take a guess, I’d estimate maybe 10% of the people who play Seasonal will actually complete the Season Journey. And for 100% completion (Feat of Strength: Soudeh the Anvil’s Staunchest Ally), I’d guess probably around 3-5% of the player base will get this.
Now, these numbers sound low, but you have to remember the vast majority of players are casual. And not casual by what’s defined on the forums. If you’re on these forums, on reddit, on discord, etc., you are not a casual player.

These challenges you stated can be circumvented by masterwork gear. The Season Journey is a time investment. The entire Season last for 3 whole months. How long do you want to invest in playing Diablo 4? Or are you claiming with your skill and time commitment isn’t enough for Season Journey completion with 3 whole months?
