As soon as I got access to NM dungeons in the season, I ran as many as I could tolerate to level my glyphs. I ran legion events or whispers sometimes if I had elixir time left or just didn’t have much time to play. My goal was to get all 5 glyphs maxed before level 100.
I didn’t quite make it - 4 of my glyphs were maxed and the 5th was level 18 when I hit 100. What level was your character when you maxed all your glyphs? Anyone have tips for doing it faster?
Depends on if you plan on keeping to play after 100. Then might as well take to lvl 21.
Personally speed run, skip over mobs, choose shortest dungeon maps so can get the glyph points in about 5-6 minutes on average with portal, loading, walking time. I think this is faster then pushing harder dunegons. So right level all depends on your skill/build/play style. But whatever allows you to just keep running to objectives fastest, that’s the level to do.
I think if you do world events, quests and other non NMD things to gain experience there is no way to have 5 glyphs leveled to 21 before 100.
I tend to do less NMD in WT3 because I like to max out the renown and get those points from the open world. But this approach may not be optimal as I lose the unleveled glyph power in exchange for the 25 paragon points.
But it is still how I would rather do it, I feel like the other way I would get burnt out on NMD.
Yeah this is probably why I didn’t quite get it - I never did speed runs, always full clears. I also didn’t filter for shorter dungeons - I ran any dungeon as long as the affixes were agreeable to me. Maybe I’ll try some speed runs next time.
It depends on your bd. I don’t like easy mobs so i always tackle high nmd at lower level so i have 5x lvl 21 sigils at 78 from speed 80+ NMD, By mid 80s was farming strictly NMD 100. My board uses 7 glyphs so i had them maxed around mid 80s.
Alt toon glyphs were alot slower as i had tons of lvl 80 ancestral gears. Its wasting resources to spec from grounds up so i Got power leveled to 80 before picking up glyphs. And again due to NMD 90-100 tiers super easy to farm, even glyphs picked at lvl 80 gets maxed at lvl 95 ish. So if you keen on glyph Xp, push as close to nmd100 as possible.
The ones I use are all 20+, but I haven’t bothered to max them because then I would have to play this stupid game.
I hit 100 a few weeks ago, saw how stupid the Lilith fight is, logged off and have been playing other games instead.
I took a different approach to renown. I leveled from 1-48 doing only renown activities so that when I hit 50 I’d immediately get all the renown bonuses. It took me longer to level, but I was free to focus on progression in WT3. I’m glad I won’t have to do that in season 2 - it will make early leveling much faster.
We took completely different approach. We weighed 20 renown against time taken to reach 5 levels and pretty much only bothered with it at 90+. Early renown is too inefficient on incomplete builds as mobility usually sucks at that point. You gain way faster paragon by focusing on Xp / hr.
The Diablo youtuber, Raxxanterax, has a kick butt Google sheet that was very helpful to me. It tells you which NM Dungeons are better for XP and which ones are better for glyph leveling. If the link doesn’t come through in this post just search for him on YouTube and open up the video for nightmare dungeon tier list. He has a link in the description.
Also he updates the Sheet when any new info comes out.
Yeah I don’t see much reason to keep playing after level 100. I’ll probably max my last glyph and maybe try some higher level NM dungeons a bit, but I won’t play daily again until season 2.
