Topic is clear. Suddenly current helltide cinder drops are the lowest of all time.
I’m barely getting anything at all.
Before with my terrible WW barb i managed to get enough cinders to open 2 X Living Steel chest and atleast 1 Mystic.
Since I changed my build to HOTA, which I basically one shot every pack, elites they don’t drop as much as before.
This is kinda annoying.
20 Forgotten soul 40 min farm. Annoying as hell.
Yea I just spent 25 minutes to get a little over 100 and gave up. Every big pack I kill drops a whopping 1 cinder consistently. The interactables still drop a bit but nothing from mobs.
And please for everyone’s sanity make it 5 steel per chest…
Blizzard realized people were having too much fun!
So they nerfed fun by 73%.
Pretty standard D4 stuff!

Ya I just tried today and got 39 cinders after 10 min of play. Shoulda been around 150+
Same here. I just did 15m in helltide and got 100 cinders. Mobs hardly drop anything, killing packed groups usually nets me 1-2 cinders, sometimes nothing at all…
I did helltide last night for like 45 minutes and got around 600-700 cinders. This helltide was in the dry steppes. Maybe its a locational bug?
Lol, and here I was thinking it was buffed, it was raining cinders for me.

I get 2000 cinders per hour. Lv 98 barb.
Kill faster. Movement speed on boots/ammy also helps a lot.

problem has nothing to do with how fast you are killing or not.
There is a bug. If you have a side quest active on the helltide zone cinder drop rates are too low.
You have to drop the side quest.

i have had loads of side quests whilst in helltides. no problem for me…
within a full hour, i usually end up with 1300-1500 cinders, which is more than enough for what i want to open. i just collect more to open other random chests to get souls and search the area for flowers/more souls from the mineral veins
e: also… i don’t know if other players see them… but those small pot/chest like things can drop a nice chunk of cinders… are people skipping those ? i constantly see people run past them an then back to them after i click to open them up

This is another reason why I refuse to play this game until there’s a management overhaul. Changing drop rates on the fly is a cardinal sin in ARPG loot hunters. You just can’t do it. It isn’t done. It’s the stuff of conspiracy theorists on the forums. But Blizzard does it now. It’s disgusting. If they’re going to do something like that, they need to make it very widely public.
But they won’t because this team has no problem deceiving the players. They just want their time engagement metrics met. And wasting their time with shady drop rate changes is one way to do that.

Aren’t you thankful to spend more time in game? That’s the way they need metrics to increase.
They seem fine, last 2 helltides today I was able to get to 2 of the monster+chests in each.
I am constantly moving on foot though. I only horse once I have 300.
Yes the little round things with the blue line at the lid.
The fiend rose plants.
The skellies in the ground that are very obviously more RED or have like blood mist in them. And the tall ones too, you can tell from a distance which ones to open.
Also some of the stones (that you get ore from) If they have blue color to them.
I’m telling you again.
This has nothing to do with how fast you are killing.
There is a bug that affect the drops of cinders in helltide. At first i thought side quest was causing this problem. But even after i cleared all the side quests same thing happened again.
Problem is persistent untill you logout or teport to someone else’s shard.
I’m playing HOTA bard and can open up 4 living shard chest and 4 chest easily during 1 helltide if it resets.
So if the drops are lower than what it was suppose to be just relog into the game instead of trying to farm.
I get more than enough, probably on average close to 700 in a 30 min period. Playing as barb.
Name your next char Cinderella. Eastereggboost. 1000 cinders/min.
