What is up with the ultra low Legendary-droprate since todays patch?

(Level 54 Sorcerer here, chill-playing a couple hours every other day, Eternal Realm)

Anyone else notice that the droprate for Legendaries was finally good after the July 18th patch?
I completed like 20 events and 5 dungeons on the 18th and 19th, and I got 9 (!) Legendary drops - it was never this rewarding to play D4 before.
Even the hard-to-catch Treasure Goblin dropped a Legendary on the 19th (up until now only Rares)!

Cut to today, after the patch/hotfix/whatever:

I just killed a Goblin again… and it only dropped 3 Magic items and some Commons. That has NEVER happened before. It was always AT LEAST 1 Rare!

Also I did 10 events, even the Legion world event… and no Legendary drops. ZERO.

Why does Blizzard seem to want to ruin the fun of D4?

Might as well dust off my good ol’ Lord of Destruction CD >_<

Please do better, Blizzard

probs another stealth nerf they are going to blame on a bug.

Low drop rates is more strategic

Strategic for whom? On the Eternal Realm?
For Blizzard? Or for Their new daddy Microsoft?

I want to have fun, and fun constitutes for me not having to endlessly grind events & dungeons for hours upon hours just for maybe ONE Legendary…

… which then has bad rolls and I have to grind more.

Currently the only viable option for me seems to collect Obols and gamble for Legendaries.

Thats the direction of the game, slow everything down.

Lower mob density, lower drops, lower xp, lower damage, die more… etc…

It’s not bug, it’s a feature.

They can increase their time engagement metrics. That way when shareholders question why most people left the game, they can say “yes, but the players that we do have – they spend a lot more time in the game. Data shows that players who play longer buy more cosmetics”. All manufactured for metrics. This patch was for the shareholders. Well, at least to lie to them anyway.

all imo, of course.

Yeah I get that. But I do not get why…

Ok, I get why - because D4 is again a half-heartedly produced game, designed to milk customers but with seriously lacking features & systems that even D3 had.

Blizzard had a decade for this game, but did not learn a single thing nor improve anything.
Maybe I’ll return to D4 in 5 years, then the game should be better (hopefully)

End game doesnt exist so have to make people spend more time levelling and gearing

I like how you think. Not only in your opinion, also in my opinion

Maybe after Microsoft takes over & retires Robert Ko Dick we will get a good D4 in 2-3 years :face_exhaling:
