What is this season…

I am sure to get flamed but this is one of the worst things to happen since Season 1. Season 5 was the pinnacle of this game and we have taken to many steps backwards. Yes I am a casual/dad gamer. I play more than most but I am not in the streamer realm. So many changes that did nothing but gated so much content for all of us. The only ones progressing this season are the farmers, streamers, and no lifers. Blizzard basically said screw off to all of the casuals. I have over 100 boss runs with my friend in T3 and have only gotten 1 usable GA. Finding a mythic, hahaha sure, that’ll happen someday. I’m just won’t be around for it. I spent well over $500 on this game for ultimate editions and cosmetics (screw off I like cosmetics) and have almost 2000hrs in game. I just can’t justify playing when there are zero rewards for those of us who can’t spend all day in game. I didn’t mind the stat squish, I hate the huge - to armor and resistances for T4. If I don’t have a friend to carry you in T4 you can’t get the necessary T4 gear and aspects to play T4. It is an asinine set up. To all who enjoy, continue to enjoy, to all who flame, piss off. Just one dad/gamers opinion.

This is not really true. I completed Pit 142 today. Torment 4 feels like EZ mode, and I have zero impactful ancestral aspects. ALL of my codex aspects are still the 750 item power version.

You just gotta play the most broken meta build imaginable now. That’s all.

I completely agree that S6 is a massive step backwards from S5 in many ways, though. Hopefully they come to their senses.

Feels like an alpha build that the shareholders voted to ship into production despite being clearly unready and only wanting to collect the cash from players at the cost of reputation that Bli$$ard no longer has.

T4 literally does nothing for your loot quality, it just makes a few more things (that aren’t GA) drop.

Trust me, it feels just as :poop: in T4. It does not get better.

My sorc, with 100+ hours played this season, is still wearing a couple non-ga pieces.

I am running about 2500 hours in game although I did purchase ultimate of everything I have not spent more than $25 on one cosmetic and only because of the 3000 platinum in the VoH ultimate.

I feel your pain. It was season 4 before I saw my first mythic; built four different characters to get the four sparks because mythic never fell for me; marked legacy at the end of Season 4. Season 5, mythic galore, had every one for each of my three builds; marked legacy at the end of Season 5… Season 6, back to the first four seasons, no mythic drops at all (RNG Hell where I lose more than most)…

Economy is busted. You are always out of some mat or money. Tempering a complete joke unless you want to spend more hours farming for Hail Mary drops of GA items to fit your build, try again when it fails and tanks… Masterworking, costly if you have poor attributes on the item. If it is movement speed, increase health, some resistance; 90% of increases go on useless stats. But don’t worry for a cool $5 million you can wipe the slate clean and do it all over again; get the same results 100 times and then finally hit.

On the bright side, there is no such thing as T4 gear and aspects. They all exist in T1 through T4.

Don’t worry OP, GAs don’t drop in T4 either

I believe each individual player’s account has it’s own mythic RNG. You watch some streams and mythics are dropping 1 after the other and then people make threads saying they haven’t seen a mythic in 300 boss kills. Blizzard screwed with tempering RNG to be nonsense so I believe what I’m suggesting is very possible.

Season started out great. But they released a patch or dunno what happend but the game went from decent to crap pretty fast

It is as I have foreseen. This season is dying.

Actually I think you’re closer to the truth then many here want to admit. Just look at all the lame marketing they’re doing around Halloween themes… flower arrangements? Silly YouTube promotions for “SlayPals”? Clearly there was a huge marketing budget set up for a release a few weeks before Halloween and NOTHING, not even show stopping, game breaking bugs was going to delay the release of VoH.

So it was rushed out the doors with the “we’ll fix it with ‘live service’ (whatever that means)” excuse and the pile of dung we got is the result. Thanks, Blizzard marketing… may the Butcher find you and turn you into sushi and feed it to his cat.

Game has never been better imo. But too many bugs, Spiritborn beyond broken OP, odd bottlenecks like rawhide (still an issue that rawhide costs 90 per masterwork + more for resets, yet salvaging a legendary armour gives 1 rawhide…) is hurting the game/season.

One thing to consider, if you’re a casual gamer, why do you expect to get the best of the best items in the game 2 weeks into a 12 week season? Blizzard definitely haven’t said “screw off” to the casuals. The game is ultra accessible in almost every way imaginable. Just because Blizzard put content in the game for more dedicated players to chase, does not mean Blizzard aren’t catering to the casual crowd. Not a single mythic or ancestral is required to dominate the game. They’re the most powerful items in the game. It’s bizarre to me that people seem to feel they’re entitled to the best gear in the game, while playing casually.

But don’t worry, it’s always the casuals who yell the loudest when they don’t get their way, so I’m sure Blizzard will be buffing ancestral and mythics droprates so everyone can be swimming in the best items with ease.

I think many of you have zero idea what arpgs are all about and probably shouldn’t be playing them.

Blink twice if you are in trouble.

I think T4 only matters for 3 things…

  1. Boss runs. You need those extra unique drops because 99.9% of them are terrible. I even got a 4 GA that was unusable because it had a bottom roll affix. Also more chance at a mythic because more drops.
  2. Hordes because its like double the material drops.
  3. DC because of the only found in T4 cosmetics.

Other than that, I dont think tier matters.

This theory was common in the MMO scene dating all the way back to Everquest in 1998. Maybe even before but that was my first MMO. The theory was that when you made your account you got a seeding. That seeding determined your luck.

I know some people that I have gamed with over decades that just have extremely good luck while others always have extremely bad luck. Didnt matter what game we played either. It was always the same.

One guy had major horseshoe. We probably play 5 or 6 different games with him now. To give an example, if you ever played SWToR, he had himself and all his companions completely raid geared before the rest of us even had our character raid geared. We still joke about his horseshoe to this day.

It would help if they did a proper beta test for everyone that preordered and they did it for an entire month. Instead they rather give review copies to partnered streamers so they can use it as a marketing tool and drum up hype.

I have 100 hours in the season. That may not be ultra sweaty but its far from casual. I think it all sucks.

I have one whole page of GA uniques
and 1+ for GA legendaries and I don’t really farm in Torment 3. Yes I have done some bosses in Torment 3, and they do tend to drop more GA Uniques than the lower tier, but it is not like the lower tiers don’t drop any…and the boss fights are much quicker.

I have yet to beat Pit 65 for Torment 4 at pit 63 currently.

Point is, I don’t know if there is any point in trying to farm in higher torments. My anecdotal experience says not really.
If you can speed farm there, great, but if it is remotely challenging just farm the tier below.

My guess is they were originally targeting VoH for a one-year release from D4 launch. But there were so many problems, changes in direction, and general cluelessness on the team that it got pushed back. Then the marketing wankers got involved and demanded it ship so they could “synergize” with Halloween.

Look at Nahantu closely and you can see signs of the rush job. There’s an entire area in the upper right that’s missing from the map. The story for the expansion revolves around the “holy war” going on inside the church yet instead of a Paladin/Crusader class we get a jungle monk. Oh, there are plenty of “knight adjacent” quests in Nahantu but the class itself wasn’t ready.

My guess is either S7 or S8 will open up that final chunk of the map and bring in the other class. Probably timed to coincide with some big sale event or maybe spring break.

Maybe but… there is no way Blizzard is going to add a class for a season. Not unless they sell it on the store.

My mythics seem to drop every 3(or a few it feels like) days. When I see people say they haven’t seen any in 300 boss kills I’m a bit baffled because I don’t even know if my boss count is at 100.
