What is the point of the game if all areas are the same level?

I opened my quest tab, and all quests are the same level. Every area is the same difficulty, there is no progression, no getting stronger so you can face tougher areas, it is completely pointless. Why would you build a game like this?? It doesnt make sense.

Level scaling belongs. It keeps all areas relevant. If anything they need to fix WT

WT3 - +5 monster level
WT4 - +10 monster level
WT5 - +20 monster level

Months ago some ppl QQ so they did remove level scaling once for a short time which was walked back really fast. The backlash was swift and they forced everyone into endless nm dungeons.

It has its benefits but the problem is it removes the spectrum of difficulty from the over world. Many players, me included, like to feel the game go “This area is too tough for you, maybe explore elsewhere for now” and then let us decide if we want to get slaughtered or explore elsewhere.

As it is right now there is no difficulty. Every character is the same path. WT3 by 40-45 WT4 by 55-60.

Nothing in the game is difficult and maybe thats the problem

The world isn’t big enough to have tougher areas. This isn’t like WoW where zones are fairly big. The whole map is smaller than half the wow zones and I’d rather not be stuck in one small area until I level up.

In fairness I haven’t played wow in probably 8 years or more so that may have changed but classic wow was a chore to get across the world on foot. This isn’t that.

If you don’t skip the campaign and start from the beginning the areas are still level gated. Go ahead and wander down into Hawezar and get smoked by the enemies down there. Of course you can still speed by on your mount if you are chasing a shrine or dungeon in particular.

Once you skip the campaign everything scales to your level with the exception on NM dungeons/vaults, helltides and the base level of monsters at WT3 (55) and WT4 (75).

The game actually has this, at least back then when I did my campaign.

Try going straight to Gea Kul from Kyovashad with your low lvl chars and see the mob lvls.

I hope that’s true. But I never experienced it while playing normally.

Try doing NM dungeons or vaults. The level and difficulty increase there.
Also, if you want the game to be more difficult talk to all the D3 and casuals with 5 kids and 7 jobs. That group want to be max level in an hour or 2.

But dont You think that its already like that? Leveling since diablo 3 is irrelevant. Every season You level faster to reach T4 faster. Now shrines give 50% more xp, potion give exp, ashes give xp. If leveling mattered none of this thing would exist. There is no leveling experience in modern wow and there is none in modern diablo.

Are you cruising NM 100s and Vault 100s with Incinerate?

Tell that to elder scrolls online…

General areas are of your level so everyone can enjoy them.

But there are tougher areas.

On World map, there are Legion Events and World Bosses who are tougher. It would need a group to beat them. The struggle is usually is when you are among the first to do them.

Like when I reach WT4, I was among the first to reach it at level 55. On World Boss, there’s only 3 of us. It took us 5 to 7 minutes to put him down. Of course, if you reach WT4 late when everyone is already level 100, they would kill your World Boss in a second.

Then there are these Uber Bosses. I like their addition on Season 2. To me, they are breakpoints to test how good you are in Solo. There is level 75 Varshan and Grigoire. There is level 85 Lord Zir and Beast in Ice. And there is level 100 Duriel. I killed them at their level except Duriel where I destroyed him last night at level 93. I failed on Varshan at level 65 and level 70 wasting my materials. To not waste my mats, I decided to kill them at their levels… except Duriel becoz my stats at level 93 is almost the same stats when I beat NM100 last Season.

And another tougher area are the NM Dungeons… and/or Vault Dungeons. A NM50 dungeon has level 104 Mobs with level 104 Butcher/Sons of Malphas. A NM100 dungeon has level 154 Mobs with level 154 Butcher/Sons of Malphas.

If you are tough, go at these zones. You would be humiliated if you are new to this.

Those are some solutions.
But racing at the start of a season to get ahead of other players for the chance to face a legion/world boss with less people around is not feasible for most. And those other options are all endgame content, well after the campaign.

The campaign is made for general public. Everyone can play and beat them. It’s like an LFR on WoW.

You would beat the campaign around level 50. By this time, players should start beating WT3 Capstone Dungeon to progress on difficulty to start getting Sacred items. Some who are still facerolling the content should start beating WT4 Capstone Dungeon by level 55 to 60 to progress more on difficulty to access Ancestral items.

Then aim to beat Uber Bosses at their level while progressing to higher NM/Vault Dungeons.

When you do this, only then you would realize that the game really has level difficulty.

Do nmds (or vaults this season). Enemies go up to level 154. 54 levels above you. Get all your gear to ilevel 925. Get as close to perfect rolls as possible on gear and aspects. Level all glyphs to level 21. Play with paragon board. This is how you progress and get stronger and do harder mobs.

so the game only has level difficulty… after the campaign. The problem is people like my sister were so bored with the combat during the campaign she never made it to the end game.

Games should offer a challenge right off the bat, not after a 20 hour tutorial.

If it did there would me much more crying threads here and Blizzard would give in and make it easier because of fear of losing cosmetics sales.

Don’t get me wrong I agree with you, just telling you what I have seen so far…

ya you’re probably right.

But all it would take is for a small area, like 10% of the zone, to have enemies that kick your butt if you’re not over leveled for the area :frowning:

Maybe if enemies in those areas wore the shop cosmetics…

Ask her to do WT2. Overcome the story then go fast to WT4. Faceroll the content, and you know what… it fights back. And if you win, it rewards Legendary Loots.

I was also on the Campaign but I pushed myself hard to get all Legendaries on all slots. And the game keeps on trying hard to kill me but it cant… But it did give me rewards.

At the very end of the Campaign, I went straight to face WT3 Capstone… spank it. It gave me my first Unique. After few levels, I was filled with all Sacreds in all Slots. By level 55, I was already tickling WT4 Capstone Elias. Unfortnately, my RNG with WT4’s was abysmal due to tons of of garbage Ancestral yellows. But I cant totally complain becoz it got me 7x Uniques before me reaching level 60.

I think if you play lazy like not seeking imprints to slots that are just yellows, the game would answer you back with lazy loots. Unlike me, I was aggressive. And the game is trying hard for me not to faceroll it. Worse comes to worst, it brings out the Butcher just to humiliate me. But I was fighting back killing the Butcher resulting to legendary loot from him. ROFL.
