What is the deal with the nerfing? Make more fun with balance, not less

I do not know what the deal is with game studios nerfing everything in a blitz. I have enjoyed the beta and have been enjoying early access. But, it boggles my mind, why nerf the crap out of everything you created before you even have the official launch day? It seems that you want to take the fun from people who want to play a game and feel powerful.

So far I only play a necro. However, I see the nerfs to the stuff I am currently using and it sucks. If anything you should be spending time inventing new ways for classes to feel more powerful, not less powerful. I have played all diablos, WOW, among many, many ARPGs other than those. I know many people lose interest in the game when developers nerf the fun out of everything. This is disappointing. I hope you reinstate some of the fun you stripped away and get to work on figuring out new ways to improve power of classes, not diminish them further.

I also would say that the gold scaling requirements for many aspects I have played so far should be toned down (repair, respec, unsocket, upgrading, etc.).

Pretty sure thier line of thinking is “Since we notice overwhelming break on characters of an unfair advantage by not dying too much while using gyraphs we will do a hard set back nerf to gyraphs and wait. Once we can figure out the soultion through testing we can apply the final measures”.

One of the apporch devs will take.

I agree. I went through over 500k and was wiped out, could barely pay for repairs, in a matter of minutes doing a respec and extracting aspects. Gold costs in this game make zero sense.

It’s kinda funny, I’ve played WoW, Diablo 3, Diablo 2 and so on since pretty much launch of those games, still play Diablo 3 like crazy but about halfway through Diablo 4 I’m starting to feel annoyed and bored with the nerfs and absolute weak feeling classes/gameplay.

It’s not fun, plain and simple. It’s the first looter game I’ve played that forces you to stay weak or at best mediocre.

I’ve played another game (with almost a 1000 hours in) recently I truly enjoy. It also has everything over scaled and level with you. I suggested buffing up characters and giving more sense of power with what you play with as your character. Still waiting to see if that happens. Games now just create something and nerf like hell afterwards and it annoys the majority of people who want to love the game. I do love this game. But, I seriously hope for more power to the classes and less nerfs in the future.

I too am hoping for some balance, I’m loving it however. Thing is, while “meta” builds are happening so early on, there’s going to be nothing but nerfs, followed by those who make the builds going “oh noes” and pasting up the next build they’ve got in the chill bin. Ironically it doesn’t affect them, only the people who copy them, and to a degree, players who brew their own stuff. I did point out something ages ago, to the tune of “Timmy like ice sphere, meta builds run ice sphere, ice sphere gets nerfed, Timmy wonders why his toys now broken”.

Ergo- Timmy: plays whirlwind because it’s fun, no meta building, just fun stuff.
Johnny: makes meta whirlwind, posts it, others rush to click and see.
Bliz: lol, nerf bat.
Everyone who followed johnnys build: why narfed!!!
Timmy: wtf happened to my fun stuff,
Johnny: oh well, here’s the next build.

Bliz’s track record is to do whatever they want and call it their “Vision” until everyone hates their game and then they actually remember that it is us who pays them and finally try to make the game fun.

the first ~year or so of D3 was pretty rough before it finally got fun.

As of right now since they have said in interviews that they want to “Encourage” multiplayer they are obviously not doing anything for solo players. They also said that they are not going to do anything about player ganking or gerifing in PVP yet have no plans for M/KB support for console leaving a major advantage for PC.

It’s why when I go to PvP land I’ll be disabling cross play. Pc gets some “interesting” assists to say the least, and it’s all dependent on player honesty as to if they utilise it or not. Not sure if they’ve engineered addons for damage calc etc for D4 yet, but they’ll make em some how.

I just wanna know what “genius” thought Dark Shroud needed to be nerfed down, instead of given a higher %age?? It’s the only real DR a rogue has until you find gear w/ it on it…

And as an archer that shoots noodles, the mobs are always beating on you…

Can we say this game is, 'I’m DRUNK on HP pots because I drink them so fast!"…

WTH, archers are supposed to kill mobs at range, not be a punching bag because only 4 or 5 of a 15 pack died running at you…

It really sucks that all the meta building stuff gets things nerfed. In all my gaming I’ve never followed a build guide (honestly no point in my opinion because the point is to have fun and discover things on your own).

It’s just how it is. Click of a button on the interwebz gets you a build to roflroll stuff, and when it gets nerfed, all chaos ensues.

Then the creators of those builds roll out the next build that they were sitting on. Spoon feeding.

Yeah, I know, it is unfortunate.

Love the challenge. Hate the game. Or rather, I would hate the game, if I could ever sign in

This is hilarious. I 100% agree. This game sucks after all the nerfs. And honestly before them too. The game just isn’t fun. There’s barely any sense of progression after ancestral rares. I wouldn’t be surprised if they increase the shako drops again just to bring back players. This game is hot garbage right now, and I can see droves of peoples leaving over the coming weeks for games that are actually fun. What a crazy cash grab for $100 a piece. And the fact that uber uniques likely take a minimum of 1 year to find, no thanks. I literally don’t have time for that crap, and it’s not even fun.

The uber uniques should not have the “doesn’t exist” drop rates. Those should be vastly increased. I do not feel bad for those lucky enough to get a shako with the blizzard bug. However, I do believe they should address the ones who did the exploit noted and take those away indeed, ban those accounts. I also do not believe streamers should get a free pass when they literally use an exploit and then put a video on youtube of that exploit, telling others to do it. I have heard about people getting banned on these forums… but, you never once hear of a youtuber or content creator being subjected to the rules.
This game has so many bugs, nerfed to the ground classes, no build diversity (either META or death as you go up in NMD tiers - BS IMO). It also uses way too much CC. The floor is lava aspects are annoying and in no way fun. Having the necro class be super slow and only have blood mist as a CC counter with a huge cool down and small duration makes it not even worth using. The list could go on and on.

Hey, it’s not all nerfs. My rogue got a entire 1% extra damage on blade shift

Oh yeah, that (1% to 2% buffs patch). Gotta love the love they gave in that

And then the next patch nerfed my rogue attack power buffs down almost 2k. I’ve actually given up playing right now because of that one.

I still play. The game is still fun. They just have a LOT of work to do to make it better. The S1 does not entice me to play. The only way I may play is if something like a stash tab is one of the battle pass achievements (which I hope they do not do because I have never cared for seasons). It would be different if I could play seasonal content on the eternal realm and the battle pass there, without having to start a new character.

I’ll come back to it, just not right now. Yeah, I get you, I’m also not sold on the whole seasons thing. There’s nothing in the season 1 announcement that’s made be think “oh, I’m really keen to start a new guy now”. For me, the entire game seems rushed to release and unfinished and Blizzard are using seasons to fix it. This is not going to entice players like me who are new to Diablo and, indeed, any game with seasons, to play for long.
