This is, by far, the biggest problem with D4 right now. Moreso than stash or missing QoL stuff. There’s nothing exciting to chase, outside of a few ultra rare uniques.
wtf, people prefer a pseudo-RNG ‘smort loot’ instead a pure random. Yeah, now I get it.
Sorry, I prefer a pure random, like poe, d1, d2, and most of all other ARPGs instead of sMoRt loot.
and LESS garbage affixes too, which solve several problems
None of those titles had pure RNG loot.
Sounds like a lot of people are chasing one specific Aspect for their specific build.
Are you arguing every single person who’s complained, is playing the exact same build and missing the exact same aspect for said build?
I do concur but it’s not upgrades I’m talking about (it’s not what im farming for), it’s the sheer number of items that are dropping for me that are rolling pretty much the same attributes over and over again…including aspects.
This has only started to happen in the last two weeks.
Maybe it’s my Autism side of things, i notice changes quite easily…When i used to play The Division 2 i noticed it on that game and lots didn’t…it turned out i was right and it came out that the loot was weighted.
Was fixed at a later date.
If your argument is that the loot system might have gotten a bug introduced into it at some point from within around 2 weeks, that is entirely possible.
I don’t think that’s the point others are making in this thread, but your point here, could easily be possible.
You got it, spot on…It’s making me think my char is bugged, not sure.
I will endure and keep playing and if i am still getting the same results then maybe time to move on…shame really as Diablo is my favorite type of game.
Now it’s time to get a speadsheet going
It’s probably not your character. I would suggest tweaking other variables instead.
If you’ve primarily been farming one specific dungeon, swap to a different one.
If you’ve been gambling for the amulets, go to a different town to gamble them.
Could be they flipped a switch and decided amulets now have a higher chance of rolling defensive affixes. I would think if something like this did happen though, that it would easily be provable given enough sample size of data.

Do you PvP? I think I’ve come across an Oatiecrumble before

I think the ‘RNG’ operates on a rotating basis where certian things are open for that period of time. Uniques, affixes, aspects.
Finally, I assume at your level legendary aspects are no longer important and just yellow affixes. PVP seed gambling best way to churn the RNG to look for what you want (at least on armor)
I find amulet hardest to put together. Since no PvP seed option and drop rate itself as an item group is hard.
EDIT: for those running spreadsheets, I think most will quickly agree the loot system is not evenly distributed.
Oh trust me when i say this, i have done all of the things you have said and then some.
The strangest thing is this all started when i created an alt to store my maxed rolled aspects that i have.
I believe this ‘trick’ tilts the weightings but doesn’t entirely change the pool available as it were.
Do you have Autism ?
I’ve come to suspect the rng is a counter. So it basically misses consecutively then procs consecutively.
The other suspicion with drops is there’s monthly quota and at start of each month, unique drops are plentiful then dries up quickly.
Sloppy programming.
Isn’t that directly contradictory with your second claim?
Because if it “procs” X times at the beginning of the month, and then “dries up quickly,” doesn’t that mean there’s like 20 some odd days’ worth of “misses?”
It COULD be one OR the other, but those two in tandem don’t jive.
I mean, you’re right about THAT part anyway.
It’s not.
20 charssss
You just described every ARPG in existence
No, I’m talking about loot in general. There are almost no drops, for any class, that are actually exciting to find. Which is anathema in a game all about the loot chase.
You couldn’t have used some of those other required characters to elaborate?
Like, let’s say they have a quota system refreshing on the 1st of each month. Every month, on the 1st, they allow 50,000 uniques to drop worldwide.
How do you reconcile China’s 1st of the month being different from here in the USA? What’s the time it starts at? Do guaranteed uniques from the campaign count? And how long do you think it takes to get 50,000 uniques to drop from around the entire world?
I mean, some months have 31 days. Even if it takes 15 days to hit 50,000 that’s still 15 entire days’ worth of WORLD WIDE play time with NO uniques dropping EVER?
It doesn’t add up.
They could WEIGHT uniques to drop MORE OFTEN early in the month. THAT could work.
OR they could have pity timers. So if no or less-than-expected amounts drop over X amount of time, the chance bumps up a bit until the drop rates correct themselves.
But both at once? Impossible.
So if you got the aspect you’ve been chasing for, you wouldn’t be excited about it?
Yeah, additive dmg is basically like diminishing returns. I got +10% shadow dmg on an item yesterday and it barely had an effect on my skill dmg.
