I have been grinding for hours and have not found even 1 upgrade to my gear. I came across another chest piece and it is just worse. The level requirement is higher by 11 levels. but all the stat ranges are less even though Its the same unique and more recently recieved. How am i supposed to upgrade when I finally get the unique im using and its just worse?

What level are you dude?
Level required for the gear means absolutely nothing, when it comes to the power of said item. I don’t know why they thought that was a good idea, but yeah it’s not an indicator at all of the items power, only of when you found it

LVL requ here is only for stoping you from gearing your alts. Since WT4 lvl 60-100 there is no other differences.
It really put a smile on my face when I see a WHITE Ancestral gear drop in 50+ tier NMD, not blue, not yellow, not orange… WHITE COLOR!!

Since the Uniques issue in Helltides fix the loot has really dropped in power level.
It’s not that I mind Uniques and Legendaries being actually rare. What troubles me is the gear that is dropping tends to be a bit lower in power than what I was getting pre-fix. Currently, I’m concerned about doing higher Tier NM dungeons and running around in Torment Tier.
And I need the gear in order to do that I think.

what level are you?
my toons usually stop getting upgrades around 80 so far.
my druid died at 87 without a single upgrade from 80 to 87. barb same kind of story. trying necro now 
feels like the game is good 1 to 80 then they stappled whatever they could to fake an endgame.
Loot 60-100 really needs to be looked at again, you can basically fully gear out in BIS crap in your early 60’s and have nothing to hunt for the rest of the game.

This is what happens when you, not only RNG all items, but RNG everything about every item… and just not include the 825 ipower break limit… basically it’s lazy item design and implementation all done by a random script on the server.
A little is fine, but this is a clear textbook case on how not to implement such a system. it’s so random, its boring for all the players.

The only one thing a diablo game is all about seems to be created by a team that never ever played a diablo game, or even remotely got tought how the famous “blizzard loot formula” works.
They messed up loot. And there is no day without me sitting in front of my PC shaking my head in disbelieve about it.
Seriously… guys you called it diablo. Make it diablo. Pretty please.
FYI :
There is no difference in stats between an item 725 and 825. Only armor changes a bit, but stats will have the same range.
Loot is 1 out of 1000 issues wrong with the game. Just play the campaign and bounce until they fix them. That was the intent of the game anyway by the designers. You can actually see that once you’re done with the campaign there’s no advancement, everything just plateaus, including loot.
also I noticed the “rare” mobs that drop those sweet yellow items that cost 2 gold… now have real values…
I thought with those special yellows only have 3 stats being so cheap to roll were still good items for people to custom build out with unlimited rolling
