Does Blizzard care if players create mods to alter the UI, such as zooming out the camera? Would we get our accounts banned for running such a mod if Blizzard detected it or would they not care so long as the mod only affected the camera zoom, or other elements of the UI?
Now sure, having a mod to zoom out the camera would give you an advantage over other players in PVP, if they didn’t have the mod, and would give you an advantage overall just because you would have more information, and see more of the game world, but is that really important? It’s pvp in a Daiblo game. Class imbalance and gear is going to be the deciding factor in pvp, not skill. Plus there’s no money at stake, pvp in Diablo 4 is never going to be an esport. Does it matter if some people have a camera mod?
If Blizzard doesn’t care, I really hope there are mods on day 1 to let me zoom out the camera.

So cheating/ruining someone else’s experience is acceptable so long as no money is on the line?

Most likely instant ban. I do wonder how they are going to balance wide monitors for PvP.
How is it ruining your experience? Are you so desperate for validation, that you’re looking for it in pvp in Diablo4? Is that what makes you feel special when nothing else does? You need help in real life.
Should we all be stuck with a terrible zoomed in camera because pvp?

I think one of the big problems with this is the movement skills on keyboard and mouse have no real range max. Leap and Teleport are the big ones. Both can work around terrain obstacles.

I would like the ability to zoom out a LITTLE bit more… like 10-20% more. As we clearly can see the camera can be adjusted based on seeing scenery or world bosses, maybe just restrict PVP to a fixed zoom amount.

No more zoom outside for D4 game. Current isometric view is fine. Nobody needs help.

If you have an ultra wide screen you already have an advantage because you can outrange everyone without an ultrawide monitor. If you can zoom out even further you can offscreen people from 2 normal screens away. What makes you think that’s a good idea?
In PvE it’ll be even worse because range classes can start fighting enemys on the same distance. Look at the worldboss I stay at the corner of the screen and simply place my conjurations on it and kill it without it having ANY chance to dmg me.
Your wish for a zoom mod is BS BUT I wish the zoom was out arround 10-15% more, just a bit but not to much.
i agree that it shouldnt be acceptable but at the same time it’s not like those ultramegaduperwidescreen monitors wont ruin a bunch of ppl’s experience either
i wish they limited the range of everything.
I will 100% use a zoom out mod the day it comes out. I don’t PvP, but I hate this zoomed in garbage for PvE. I would rather risk a ban, than play with this zoomed in for console garbage.

They simply won’t at all.

i wish they’d just limit everyone’s clicking within whatever 16:9 is but it would feel kinda weird having clicks not respond on the edges heh
i hope they figure something out but they probably won’t heh
I honestly don’t see how you guys are going to find the pvp competitive at all to begin with, theres far to many multipliers in d4 as there where in d3, and i assume those multipliers are going to be needed due to the nature of nightmare dungeons. Pvp is going to be no different then d3 whoever hits who first.

21:9 isn’t much of an advantage. In a some games it actually doesn’t even change your field of view. From what I understand, above 21:9 is not supported and places black bars on the side. If it doesn’t because you got around that, your vertical field of view is cut down to fill up the screen.
If anyone has a 32:9 or 32:10 correct me if I’m wrong but I believe that is the case. Looking side by side at a 21:9 and 16:9 isn’t a giant difference like 32:9 or 32:10 is though.
Who is faster at oneshotting is kind of a competition
I really think the best solution is to just give a zoom out function to all players. At a certain point, the extra side data ultra wide players have will just be unpopulated space that won’t grant any advantage.
This was an actual cheat that existed in D2, people used it a lot along with the far cast mod on charged strike amazons to hit people from 2 screens away.
Good times…
You are not supposed to see what’s coming on your path in this kind of game.
it’s going to be a donkey show for necros blood mist or what ever the spells called and and who’s invul wares off first.
Mist is an non issue because it doesn#t deal dmg and noone in her right mind would stay on corpses while fighting a necro. mage invul iceblock move will befar more frustrating because to outrange it you need dashes or movement skills or invul on your own.
Then again who cares? If suddenly 2 hydras and 8 swords spawn arround you and you don’t even can see from where. Everything outside of an ordinary screen format should be fog of war for pvp :).
