Like LASERPEWPEW mentioned, developers are going for new type of class but I believe it wouldn’t be something outside of Diablo genre. So I’m thinking something like Zakarumite or Iron wolf.
it’s going to be a Priest class with holy and shadow magic.

6th one will be that “meh” archangel class.
Been hoping they do something like a hoplite/valkyrie. Paladin or Crusader seem like obvious choices if they were going with tried-and-true, but I’m thinking they do some sort of hybrid of past classes. Would scratch the itch for some former Spearazons too.
Ofcause there will be paladin class, but you have to pay for it, will come in next expansion

There is an image of all the classes fighting demons in a promotional piece of artwork and there was what looked like a 6th class with angel wings and a spear included. People assumed that this was an accidental leak of a 6th holy class. But nothing is confirmed and I believe at least one of the devs has been on record saying that they would rather do something new than bring back something old.
So we’ll definitely get at least one new class with the first expansion (probably sometime in about a year or so) but no confirmation that it is a paladin, crusader, templar, holy class.
Paladin seems least likely since their order was corrupted and destroyed by Mephisto though with Mephisto likely being the big bad in the expansion that could be the link that somehow brings back a new order of paladins.
this is D3 all over again. failed to bring one of the most popular classes into the game at launch. Failed at creating an endgame at launch. the paladin should be a staple class just like sorc and barb… whoever thought otherwise should be fired, but nope, they want to milk you of your money and make you pay for it when they add an expansion, just like they did with necro and sader in d3.

yep, probably a priest, with auras and blessing, not very original but that make sense.
It can be some sort of knight too, though, with some spear, shield and sword skills, some tank but a bit slow, could make sense too.
Or else it can be a totally new surprise character

My guess they will make a new class called Templar as it will be similar to crusader and paladin but will also be different, probably a combination between the monk and crusader.
They had this storyline about the fallen corrupt Templar order from D3, an interesting scenario would be for Tyrael to have left the horadrim to rebuild the Templar order so they can aid him in the coming conflict .
Unlike the Crusaders and Paladins , the Templars will have the option to either do a sword and shield or just a 2 handed weapon and be able to cast light based spells.
At least that’s what I would think when they say they will make a brand new class, no way they don’t have a paladin / crusader type of light warrior .

It was a female figure wearing gold plate armor with a spear and a shield with angel wings and golden eyes. Angels are usually faceless so that is one of the reasons why people assume it is the next player class and will be some sort of holy class. IDK could just be wishful thinking.

Did Blizzard ever say that the Paladin was the sixth class? A lot of things show up in art that are not what some people think they are.
Yeah some people have speculated maybe Amazon or a new holy class that uses spear. Or it might have just been the artist taking liberties. Maybe we’ll know more at Blizzcon in November but so far the only thing that anyone has said about a 6th class is that they might like to do something different and not bring back an old class.
