What happen to the D3 heros?

Well in classic Diablo tradition we end up finding out what happen to the heros of the previous installment.

But so far I have not heard a peep of the fate of the D3 heros.
I think its been a 40 year time gap? with 80% of the population dead from the black soulstone?
The heros were so powerful they could punch gods to death, so what happen to them?

The only one I can assume is the male barbarian finally died of old age.

Considering that the Blizzard team only know how to write a “corruption” plot…most likely some D3 heroes will be corrupted and become a demon.

Game is not released. So no one knows. Wait till June we all will know.

Except I’m pretty sure we don’t know the fates of the D2 heroes still.

Cassia the Amazon went home after the D2 events, but no word after that.
Isendra the Sorceress is dead
Xul the Necromancer took on Mhetan as an apprentice, but no word on him other than that
The Paladin, Barbarian, Assassin and Druid all have unknown fates that were never answered in D3

So…I wouldn’t exactly call it “classic diablo tradition”

Cassia became the general of the armed forces in Skovos (Land of the Amazons and location that Lorath wont shut up about.)
Isendra is dead yes.
Xul became a teacher to a new generation of necros.

The rest of this lore needed a lot more digging and watching old interviews.
The Paladin returned to Travincal to rebuild the holy order (Good luck with that)

The Barb “was” suppose to be the same barb in D3 but the writers did not like the idea of making he a veteran hero. (Honestly I don’t think it would have mattered much)

The Assassin did not like having to kill the Sorceress and left the order and became the Demon huntress in D3. (So I guess she was not Asian after all, Slavic apparently)

And the Druid well… he walk off into nature… so ya no one know what happened to him.

Hope this helps.

None of that discounts what I said.

We don’t know what happened to Cassia. Is she dead? Did she survive? We don’t know. Same with Xul. We don’t know what his current state either. I thought Mhetan said he disappeared or when on a journey or something, but I might be misremembering his dialouge.

Again, we don’t know the Paladin’s fate. Did he succeed? Did he fail and die? It’s never answered. Same with Barb.

You have any sources for that Assassin take? I’ve never heard anything about her becoming a Demon Hunter (she certainly wouldn’t be the playable one if she was).

Long as no one is jamming a sword in the planet or some new nonsensical cosmic villains are showing up I am all good
PS What happened to Tyrael?

Apparently he died, he was mortal so it was inevitable.

The joke is that he ate himself to death.
He ate and ate until he couldn’t take another bite…

Actually you are probably right. Tyrael always could be found in Tristram complaining about his digestive issues. Perhaps peanut or shellfish allergies…

Wouldn’t that just be hilarious.
Imagine his liver had no way to filter alcohol and he poisoned himself while having a celebratory drink.

Another question a friend ask me is if Tyrael had any kids, with I guess could be possible.

:boom:Side quest SPOILERS below :boom:
sorry for the slight necro here but there is a quest I think is called Remnants of the Faith? And you help out a young crusader named Tomyris who is trying to carry on the legacy of her master.

As it turns out when completing this quest you find the masters armor and its called “Johannas Namesake” and she puts it on and takes on her masters name as is the custom of the Zakarum.

Is this the same Johanna? Did this D3 hero meet her end trying to retake the old Zakarum Fort called Maugans Folly?

I am curious if anyone else has found any easter eggs like this relating to d3 or even d2

Side Quest Spoilers as well…

I ran into Lyndon in a town in Hawezar who has a long quest chain. I believe Lyndon was the D3 Scoundrel.

I am working on quests there now andI am going to search for them too, good find!
Plus I am now curious if he is still his old scoundrel self. Some humor in D4 would be refreshing actually

I think the only update we received is our follower, Lyndon. The events of D3 are weirdly barely mentioned in D4. Weird to the point that Caldeum’s rebuilt and the people invited another demon in after Belial bombed the place, the world’s fully populated again after only 50 years, all the people consider demons and such myths after only 50 years…

There were several times in D4 I wondered if the assets used were the game bits they revealed that were originally going to be D3. That’s how blatantly the world changes and events in D3 were ignored in parts.

Seriously, Malthael wiped out most of the planet. No one talks about it. Somehow angels are not only trusted, they’re worshipped…

It is him. I found the interactions with him amusing :slightly_smiling_face:

I haven’t done all the side quests yet but finding him made we wonder what happened to our other two followers.

Probably one of the best chains in the game. Has a few little twists. Plus, it’s Lyndon. He’ll always be awesome.

I truly hope they don’t waste the opportunity and bring back Inarius as a demon and the main antagonist in a future expansion. His entire arch of Archangel → fallen angel(or angel → demon since demons are just fallen angels in Abrahamic mythology) seems perfect for it. They could then bring back the Necromancer from D3 as some kind of Ally or something because of what Inarius did to Rathma.

Considering how long D4 is supposed to be set from D3 (I’ve heard 30-50 years with no confirmation, it’s unlikely it’s the same person. They also look different, but hey you’re allowed a change of hairstyles! But to get yeeted by a bunch of bandits tho…

They’re sleeping, don’t they deserve a rest for all they have done?
