A lot of people here seem to confuse “live service” with incomplete game.
Yes, D4 is incomplete, but it does not equate “live service” to incomplete.
Live service used to be an exciting thing, where the Devs added interesting content and QoL changes.
TLDR - Blizzard are confusing the term “live service”, as a 2 year paid Beta.

For now Live service for D4 seem to be pushing patch without internal testing first.
So many bugs, I think they want to beat Bethesda on that level.

It doesn’t mean anything. It’s a marketing ploy. Every game attached to the internet is technically a live service game and can be updated if the developers want to update it.

Endless lag and next level disconnects
D4 is not incomplete.
I got a story.
I got good combat.
I got a full game.
To say it is incomplete is false. Is it buggy? Sure but all games even elden rings had bugs.
To say it is incomplete game is silly and foolish.
Live service is a gamble. It means content that could be enjoyable, or not. It means the game is ever changing. Common sense.
When was that ever the case? Live service was a term adopted to refer to “Games as a Service”. Destiny 2 released as a “Games as a Service” type game, complete with premium currency MTX that you could use to then purchase cosmetics from Eververse.
Many gamers came to see live-service as a bad thing since more effort was put into the premium currency shop than the actual game. Just because a game isn’t live-service, doesn’t mean it doesn’t get updates that add content or QoL features.
I take it as meaning the game will evolve with content added regularly and balancing/patches done regularly.
They have been doing a good job. They overdid it with this latest patch, but they have been actively working on the game.
D4 is not incomplete. It released in a finished state.
Ya’ll need to stop using this BS. It’s honestly sad.
Right? It is silly to think that because a service does not go how you wanted it. All of a sudden the game is not complete.
It’s just another version of the ‘incomplete game’ myth that’s been circulating since DLC became a thing. Just more BS cooked up by the ignorant who don’t know any better.
Degenerate shop, power creep, inconsistent quality, probably a Korean game, everyone looks like a stripper, soon to be free-to-play.
Disregarding that this is a Diablo game, these are the associations I make with the term.
Whatever strip joints you’re going to, it’s definitely the wrong ones…

If this was not a diablo title, I guess you will have described the future of this game.
Live service - how to sell early access game at full price and get morons excited about being scammed

Coming from someone name Torchlight, this comment made me chuckle.
You should come to the Balkans. They definitely take inspiration from Korean clickers, they know their audience is single man in their 30s.
I mean you are the ones at fault. I got my money worth out of the base game, and the service part is just a bonus.
Check my full tag, it gets better.
Live service means that the Gamer Karens can dynamically complain… aka “NM are dungeon too hard” … “NM dungeons are now too easy”…
A never satisfied mob
It doesnt matter what “live service” means to us…
It matters what means to Blizz…
And by the current state of game, it means a Paid Alpha!
