Just right before a battle, I hovered my mouse over the red sphere on the left of my skill bar, and it said both Life and Fortify are at 12,477/12,477. During the battle, I noticed my red sphere decreased in level despite being fully fortified. After the battle, both Life and Fortify are at 10,444/10444!??
I don’t think I’ve ever experienced this before because Fortify was supposed to deplete before my Life gets depleted, right?
Can anyone think of a reason why it behaved this way this time??

Long story short, think of Fortify as a Damage Reduction Buff that only applies when your health reaches the amount youre fortified.
So if you have 100 health, and you’re only fortified for 50, that damage reduction won’t kick in until you hit 50 health. Now if you have 100 life, and are fortified for 100, the damage reduction will kick in as soon as you get hit, but both your health and the fortify amount will decrease along with it.
Fortify is not a Barrier that absorbs damage, just reduces incoming damage.
