Before the last patch I could do PIT 108 and now I barely can finish pit 105.
I didn´t changed anything to my build.
There are nothing in the patch notes but my sorcerer feels much weak now.
Devouring Blaze and Conjuration Mastery both massively nerfed. A few passives were buffed by a few % to compensate here and there… Inner Fire no longer buffs only Fire damage, now ALL damage, just requiring healthy. Permafrost does the same thing, 6% more damage per skill level, as long as you have a cold spell equipped to your action bar.
Glass Cannon stayed at 6% with a very heavy drawback no other class has to endure. Icy Touch was missed and should be tuned to 6% more damage to vulnerable monsters per level. Elemental Dominance Missed.
In summary, an emergency buff job that wasn’t even close to comprehensive.
Cold lost big, and no longer has any viable builds that I am aware of, mostly because of heavy reliance on Devouring Blaze.
Fire basically maintained status quo, maybe a little buffed. Meteor is able to push a bit now. Incinerate had a major bug fix put in that severely reduced it’s damage. Fireball massively bugged, scaling 1.3^4 (4 bounce )to CHD; it’s currently working for each one of the fireball bounces. So FB CHD is getting a 2.86 CHD multiplier instead of a 1.3.
Lightning more or less at same level, but Shocking Impact currently bugged in a few different ways. I guess there is some kind of ICD, and the actual damage proc doesn’t seem to be scaling with damage multipliers except intelligence. Lightning Spear is king, but bugged because Roaring Lightning Spear is not functioning. at all, which is a missing 160% multiplier. 160 (x) multipliers are BIG multipliers to be missing, but the builds has clear 123 with some…help of the witchpowers.
Bugged, un-fun, tedious shattered still #1 sorc build for pushing.
S6 to S7 are hard to compare, because witch powers are a thing.
I mean. Those passives changed within season 7 and I was fine with those changes. Just use Inner Flames and Permafrost and you get similar results.

Nothing that I know of. Decay was temporarily disabled; by chance where you using that? The other thing you should check is the build itself, because Armory was out and maybe your biuld was changed unintendedly.
I don’t use that power at all and I didn´t changed anything in my build and strangely i cant do PIT 3 levels below what I was doing.
meh glad I skipped this season. I found last season frustrating since spiritborn were god level and I struggled to push pits past 100. This season every interesting build is relatively less powerful so no thanks.
Meteor, or rather Meteorites, have never felt smoother to play thanks to the changes to ultimates making Inferno virtually spammable as long as you use Flickerstep or Orange Herald. Even so, with fully optimized gear the build can’t really push the Pit past 95 comfortably because the damage just isn’t there. Meteor needs a major baseline damage buff and the Starfall Coronet needs to provide some kind of multiplicative damage or defense increase if it’s going to compete for the same slot with the mythic helmets.
If they ever fix the bugs that cause Fireball to hit way harder than it should and the broken scaling of Splintering Energies sorcerers would be dead last and by a huge margin. It’s a tragesty!
The crap about meteor and firewall is the long cast time. That’s why I don´t like to use them.
Anyway, I found the problem in my build. A stupid change I did to test something and I forgot to rollback, Now all is working as expect and doing pit 112.
I did that the other day. I was messing with the paragon nodes and accidentally deactivated one of my glyphs leaving it at 35/40, derp!
That was the obvious problem and the one of the things I suggested you check first. Occam’s Razor strikes again. I’ve done this kinda thing too.
I proposed a series of fixes to our cap stone talents in another thread. Would love to have some discussion.
Nah… I just removed 4 points from Lighting spear to test Frost Nova + ice shards as enchantment. Believe of not, those 4 points does a huge difference.
