What can I trash?

Getting close to the end game (should be Level 80 tonight). The only unique I’ve found has been the Butcher’s Cleaver. My inventory is full now, along with my spare characters used for extra stash. The problem comes down to that whereas other characters, their aspects are all item numbers (i.e. Does 200 damage on normal, 400 damage on Sacred, 600 damage on Ancestral), almost all the Druid aspects seem to be percentage based, and the percentages don’t change going to a higher tier item.

Is there anywhere I can find a list of aspects I can just completely trash? (In other words, stuff I won’t regret getting rid of, should the right unique drop later.)

Start by sorting! You are more likely to find duplicates in similar gear.

Second, turn on tool tips(?) in your options. This should show you the range of damage available (e.g (30% - 40%)).

Trash items will be:

  1. Duplicates of aspects you have never used, on the lower end of the ranges above. If you have 40%, throw out 30%. You are level 80, and will not be making temporary trash gear as much anymore. Keep the top 2.
  2. Aspects that have no ranges, and are available in the codex.
  3. Aspects tied to basic skills. GARBAGE!
  4. Generic aspects. Do you really care about dodging those distant attacks while you have a barrier? Me neither.

Terrible advice to trash any aspect tied to basic skills. Wtf?

You’re playing the game very differently than I am if you’re using basic skills enough to desire an aspect that modifies them.

To add onto what Golgrath said:

  1. Remember that 2-handers and amulets have 100% and 50% bonuses to these percentage ranges. You’ll have to take that into account when deciding which legendary is worth it.
  2. One example of an aspect you can just pull from the codex is the Ballistic aspect. You’ll see it get up to +3 on amulets, but they’re all the same +2.

Yeah? You think aspect of Might is useless? Not playing the game properly if using it? Rapid too?

3 skill points added to a single basic skill to satisfy the requirements of the “Level 1” skill, and not one skill point more. Isn’t this the core of every build?

If I can’t be bothered to spend the skill points, I won’t be spending the aspects either.

Almost every build uses Might aspect for 20% damage reduction. Rapid is used less, but still used.

It was bad advice.

“Keep Might, and sometimes Rapid” is no advice at all on how to reduce inventory. How about you give it a shot? Try not to overlap my answer. Fill it with all the bad advice you like.

You could just remove that line. Are you mad?

I stand by it. There are better aspects.

Terrible advice. Why not double down? Always good to stick your fingers in your ears and stomp your feet like a stubborn child when you’re wrong. Carry on.
