I have more games installed than usual and since D4 is so massive at 140 GB trying to see if uninstalling some for this D4 season is worth.
Iāve posted my misgivings in other threads and I donāt want to go over them again. In a nutshell, the seasonal mechanics, especially the incursions, are uninspired and barebones on the verge of being non-existent.

So blizzard being blizzard?
Iāve spent 10 hours in Diablo 4 Season 8 and only hit level 43. That kind of slow progression wouldāve been fineā¦ if the rewards made up for it. But guess what? Legendary drops are almost non-existent. Instead, Iām drowning in rare (blue) and magic (yellow) gear that clogs up my stash and serves no purpose. Canāt use 'em, canāt enjoy 'emājust dismantle and move on.
And this is just on Hard difficulty. Enemies already feel like bullet sponges. I canāt even imagine how brutal itās going to be on Expert, let alone Torment. Unless youāre a masochist, it just feels punishing without the payoff.
Then thereās the seasonal contentā¦ugh. Repetitive. Tedious. Boring. Thereās no sense of excitement or freshness in the activities. I honestly regret buying the Season Passāonly reason Iām still playing is to collect the rewards I paid for. Once thatās done, Iām out. See yāall again in Season 9.

The battle pass and powers again. Else just had powers and neither interested me.
You need to increase your difficulty. Thatās why it is so slow and not many legendary drops.
You mixed up the colorsā¦ butā¦ ewā¦ inventory full of blues and yellows? Might be ok in another game, but in D4 itās sad.
Codex barren then?
Bad Stuff :
- Slower grind.
- āNew one off powersā that will only last a season. And that will only act as buffing existing builds rather than create really new ones.
- New slow reputation to grind slowly.
- More difficult difficulty but also less rewards.
- Battlepass bugged which doesnāt give you the rewards you spend your tokens on.
- Even more expensive battlepass with less stuff in it.
- Slow and tedious tasks for Chapters that you now have to complete fully.
- End game balanced around the grind of a 24/24 streamer so you can watch streamers instead of actually enjoying the game.
- Not a lot of new builds. Samey builds again.
- More limited time to complete stuff (2 months season) because you should be a streamer.
- Text to speech voicing because paying people is overrated.
Good Stuff :
- You can now directly teleport to a friend (like in Diablo 3).

Lucky you. I played for 2 hours just chilling around and Iām already level 40. I wish I could say the progression is slow, but it really isnāt.
I already have 6 legendaries, and I had to unlock Penitent because the fights felt like a joke. Nothing changed, really.
So far, the season feels flat and uninspired, but Iāll wait to experience all the changes before making a final statement about S8.
Iām just sharing some early feedback because I was really hoping to enjoy the journey, and they changed their minds way too fast. Itās honestly disappointing.

This just feels conflicting to me.
How can there be an 8 hr difference for the same level?

Probably the incursions. Lots of people around, all enemies melt before you can hit them and XP seems crazy. One or two levelups each time. I hit 29 in no time, hardly using any skills, just running around picking up the loot, as little as there is of that.

Mmmmā¦ Not really. I came into season 8 mostly blind and confused, LOL and Iām enjoying it so far.
Only thing I didnāt like is that I had to go to work after playing about 90 minutes of season 8, Lol I feel so far behind everyone else.

I donāt know, I donāt really see any reason to lie about something like this.
Besides, itās no secret that Iād much rather have a slower, more satisfying progression.
Pretty sure Iāve said it so many times on this forum that Iāve probably become annoying by now
