Still we can salvage them and upgrading codex after new patch? Or we must do it befeore new patch realese?
If you salvage them now, you’ll just get materials. If you’re after the aspects, I would EXTRACT them now.
When S4 hits, all Aspects in inventory will be immediately converted and stored in the new Codex. This may require a character login/game load for each character.

You can also salvage the items after the patch launches and the aspects will update in the codex. There’s no rush to extract prior to the patch.
Supposedly. It was never tested on PTR, since there were no Legacy items.
To be safe, I’d advise extracting them now. All you forgo are some materials, and it’s Eternal Realm anyways.
If you couldn’t, and people lost the opportunity, the backlash would be justifiably enormous.
It also makes no sense from a coding standpoint. It’s simpler to make salvaging all items update the codex than it is to make an exception for legacy items.
Are you talking about ones that are “updated” with the patch like how Echoing Fury aspect was raised to 10, and soon will become “Vocal Empowerment”? Prior drops were then converted, but not to the max 10 (instead, 9 was max and u had to get new drop for 10)
There are a few aspects that will be updated for S4. So maybe will be similar.
You do you. Trusting Blizzard’s coding on D4 is a leap of faith I won’t make. This is the same Blizzard that has had 3 Seasons of duplication exploits. Oerfect track record! 
That’s the beauty here. This time they’d actually have to try to break it.
I keep two copy-
- Salvage aspect
- Legendary gear with aspect pending salvage in S4, usually those not maxroll or extra copy.
Is better safe than sorry. Whether you get to complete T100 PIT on day 1 depends on whether you do this correctly in S4 
New drops will be better by default, just scrap everything for materials.
I did that w/ some super rare (but important) ones. Present system limits access to aspects by level. Some are perfect rolls but lvl 60 or below, while lvl 80 ones can’t be used until 80.
Will S4 make it so the rolls are based on your progression?
It is same with my testing in PTR. But if you are salvaging legacy gear means you are using them in Eternal realm. So I think you should have character at least 80 which can higher roll aspect.
The codex is account bound, means if you have one lvl 100 character, your another lvl 50 will benefit from the codex. But I have no idea whether you can imprint a high roll aspect on lower level character, but in theory, you can. We shall test it out tomorrow.
Yes you can. I confirmed this in PTR.
EDIT: 4 Umbral aspect is one of the best Aspects you can have with a low level character. Such a good resource fix early on.
