Weapon swapping

Does anyone know if the each strike from frenzy counts as a weapon swap?

Also, does each cast of double swing count as a swap seeing as you are using 2 weapons?

no and no.
Despite many different weapon types swap is counting only when your next skill will use weapon from another barbarian arsenal category.

Nope. DW, 2h mace, and 2h sword are the options for a swap.

Even alternating between WW with a 2H Sword and Freny Dual-Wield, it will take you about 4-6 seconds to go through the 8 Swaps. Weapon Swapping is a clunky and odd mechanic as are all of the supporting mechanisms for it.

Let’s not forget, boys, that we are on season 6 (technically 7), and we still have a weapon mastery skill that cannot have a weapon assigned to it.

Along with two other unassignable skills.

How do they have jobs?

Agreed that we should have more assignable skills for swapping diversity.
That said, I noticed something curious regarding the Passive Skill and Swaps.

Assigning a Bludgeoning weapon to LEAP and a Slashing to REND, while using Ring of Ravenous, activates two instances of the Passive skill, even if rend is not in skill bar.

Can’t recall if it counted as two Swaps.

Slighlty off-topic, but related to Rend application through Raveneous.
Apparently Ground Stomp (as a brawling skill) applies more than two Rends (think is four Rends).

Yes this is indeed true. But the kicker is Ravenous has a four second cooldown. So you can only triple swap every four seconds.

No you’re right. It’s 1 second cooldown. I haven’t looked at it recently. Didn’t realize it’s 1 second now. Seems the cooldown is there for protection against some kind of infinite loop. I haven’t test it with Call of the Ancient either yet. I’m just glad Ground Stomp can now proc Ravenous.

Speaking of Ground Stomp, does Bear Clan and Veteran Brawler’s work with Ground Stomp when you convert the Tag to Brawling? When you have +Defensive Skills and +Brawling Skills, does it benefit twice?

I was going to try to make a Ground Stomp / Power Kick build loading up on Max Fury, Ramas, Fury recapture etc.

In theory it should. In practice… I haven’t done anything with Ground Stomp this season. So I can’t say for sure.
I was planning on making a EQ build with Perpetual Stomp instead of using Giant Stride. With enough CDR I can just rotate Ground Stomp and Kick. Gonna wait for the patch to do more stuff. No doubt the patch is going to break stuff before blizzard can fix them.

I know what Veteran Brawler’s says, not sure if we got lucky and Blizzard actually updated the workings of it. Big oversight to take somrthing and make it into a Brawling Skill then straight up neglecting it from the largest Damage Increase specific to Brawling Skills.

Theyd have to rework the aspect to just “Brawling” skills instead of naming Charge, Leap, Kick…which honestly I dont get why they did it that way. Could always use the updated 100,000 steps post Ground Stomp buffs and see if that works out.

There is a lot of that. Brawler’s Aspect also only working with Kick or Charge. What not all Brawling Skills? Perpetual Stomping is Kick or Ground Stomp resetting Leap only and Leap has Giant Strides which is specific to Leap only. Why would Charge not also at least also reset Leap? Bear Clan is worded VERY weirdly, but at least is worded to benefit all Brawling Skills.

It seems like:

  • Veteran Brawler’s should be reworded to benefit all Brawling Skills.
  • Brawler’s Aspect should be reworked to benefit all Brawling Skills. The X Damage needs to be increased and cause Brawling Skills to deal extra Damage to Bosses. Skills that do not work on Bosses are largely worthless.
  • Perpetual Stomping oddly does not give you any CD to Ground Stomp despite its name. It is oddly a Movement Ability so you can only put it on Boots or Amulet (lol). This needs to a Utility Aspect. I would prefer it to work like 100,000 Steps giving you a free Ground Stomp. Enemies damaged by Ground Stomp would reduce the CD of Brawling Skills like Bear Clan does.
  • Giant Strides Aspect gets added to Enhanced Leap.
  • Bear Clan Berserker gets changed to cause all Brawling Skills to generate Barrier, Fortify and Fury while Berserking. Killing and enemy with a Brawling Skill while Berserking would reset all Brawling Skills.
  • 100,000 Steps gets changed to combine Aspect of Bul-Kathos and Earthquake and work for all Brawling Skills. This would mean Kick, Ground Stomp, Charge, and Leap would generate Earthquakes giving you DR and Damage Bonus while standing in Quakes.
  • Leap Upgrades need work. Enhanced Leap would generate Fury. Mighty Leap needs to be a Pull and a Slow. Power Leap would be a Multiplicative Damage bonus to Leap. As referenced above, Giant Strides gets added to Enhanced Leap. This gives you two paths, one to use Leap purely for EQ and Support, and one to make it your Primary Damage dealer.
  • Aspect of Earthquakes gets changed to increase Damage and Duration of Earthquakes as well as having a Lucky Hit Chance to spawn an extra Earthquake.
  • Aspect of Bul-Kathos would have Earthquakes Heal you and generate Fortify.

100,000 Steps: Reduce the cooldown from 10 to 5. Stupid blizzard. Just make it so our stats affect aspect cooldown as well.

100,000 Steps is underwhelming and requiring WA for a Ground Stomp every 10 seconds is kind of garbage. They need to completely do away with the concept of WA gating Aspects. Additionally, having Aspect of Earthquake and Aspect of Bul-Kathos (a coveted Defensive Aspect) require two equipment Slots to support EQs is ridiculous.

I would much rather see 100,000 Steps grant BOTH Bul-Kathos and Earthquake Aspects. Affixes change to:

100,000 Steps

  • Evade Grants 30% Movement Speed, and Unhindered for 4 seconds.
  • +Movement Speed
  • +Max Resists
  • +All Resists
  • +Earthquake Size
  • Brawling Skills create Earthquakes dealing X damage over 4 seconds. While standing in Earthquakes, gain 30% Damage Reduction and x30% Damage.

This would also offer an alternative to almost having to take Tyrael’s in your Chest Slot. The Passive Effect is granting Ghostwalker.

This is sad, how is “pressing more then one button every 10 seconds” some god damned giant hardship for most Barb players, apparently???
