Hello Rogues!
Question on the Weapon Mastery passive. If I’m understanding things correctly, as a melee Rogue, you get the bonus from both 1H weapon slots. For example:
If using 2 daggers, you get 30% increased damage to healthy enemies (15% from each dagger).
If using 2 swords, you get 18% increased damage (9% from each sword).
If using 1 of each, you get 15% damage vs healthy enemies and 9% increased damage.
Is this accurate? Moreover, while playing a melee Rogue, you DO NOT get the 15% increased critical strike damage bonus from using a Crossbow, since you’re not actually attacking with that weapon, correct?
You will still get all the passive stats from you range weapon even if you are using melee. Crit chance, bonus damage to healthy enemies etc. This is why barbarians will be super strong at the very end once barb players get all their four weapons slots with their BiS weapons. That is a lot of bonus damage etc.
The only thing that will not apply is the base damage of the range weapon itself. Melee skills will use melee weapon damage stat.
Don’t listen to the first reply, they completely ignored your question about the passive skill itself and only answered based on affixes on the weapon.
The passive says “Gain a bonus when attacking based on weapon type:” I would wager that it means when attacking based on the weapon type you are attacking with.
“you DO NOT get the 15% increased critical strike damage bonus from using a Crossbow, since you’re not actually attacking with that weapon, correct?”
I would say correct!

I’m totally agree with it.
What is still missing is the combination of different weapon and multiplication e.g. two daggers does this work and how to test? any thought?
