We played D3 for 10 years, and you are telling me there is no end game in D4?
There is end game in D4 just not 1000’s of hours worh for everyone.
One wonders why people have rose-tinted glasses for D3 when the only real endgame was farming greater rifts. So engaging.
Don’t get me wrong, I love D3, but D4 is already much more fun at endgame than D3 ever was, and we just started.
Some of you guys just need to be more patient. The game was rushed. It will get better, I promise. If it doesn’t ever get even a little bit better, I’ll set up a PO box and you can mail me cat poop or something. lol
If you don’t believe in paragon levels, why have a nightmare mode?
white knights say that is ok to drop off an AAA wannabe ARPG made by Blizzard after some days
mofos, I WANTED TO PLAY THIS GAME FOR YEARS FROM THE START! Already uninstalled it.
D4 end game is between the levels 65 and 80.
Its over before people realise.
Who is “we?”
D3 had terrible player retention for the amount of copies it sold. The supposed “endgame” the game has wasn’t enough to bring players back or stop the game from just hemorrhaging players. Just because there was a 10 year gap between D3 and D4 wasn’t because D3 “endgame” was actually popular, it just means D4 spent a long time in the planning/development stage.
What does D3 have that D4 doesn’t? Targeted farming is the only thing I can think of.
NMD ==> GR
Dungeons ==> R
Whispers ==> Bounties
Paragon Glyphs ==> Legendary Gems
And then you have Helltides, World Bosses, and Legion events on top of all of that.
If you don’t like the activities… I get it. I’m starting to get bored of them too. But the activities are all there from D3 imo. So comparing the two games is a weird criticism in that regard.
Items.
D3 had items with affixes.
Exactly and to what end, to say you beat gr 150 the same rift guardian…just minmaxing to climb a ladder.
None of the gear is needed to overcome anything or use in the overworld.
D4 NEEDS to jump away from this track…asap.
Huh?
D4 has items with affixes… a lot of the affixes suck admittedly. But once again, just cause you don’t like them doesn’t mean they’re not there.
99% of path of exile end game is maps, which are reused assets from the campaign in most cases.
Theres other activities to do, but that is 8 years of content patches that mostly stayed in the game for you to do at end game.
Who is we? and why would 10 years of “well we killed it go ahead and do whatever you want with it” development… NOT be something we should want to improve on?
For those who do enjoy when all they were doing is farming greater rifts. I’m not saying that’s never fun, but I am saying it’s not as fun as what we have in D4. You can do NMDs, you can do helltides, whispers, PvP, uber Lilith. With the exception of Uber Lilith, the rest of that stuff is doable before endgame, but those few things are still viable for endgame. It doesn’t inherently make them endgame only activities, but they don’t become obsolete at end game.
I think my point is, for the very first season of a new game, there’s way more to do than 10+ years of endgame in the previous game. It’s nothing to sneeze at. Even if I quit D4 right this second and never play it again, I absolutely got my money’s worth. I think I’ve already played over 200-300 hours and that’s more than I can say for A LOT of games nowadays.
And on top of that, there’s going to be more stuff to do later. I’m pleased, but that’s just me. ![]()
Kind of mad that you’ve managed to play D3 for 10 years. Man, that game seems to have been tailor-made for you!
However, D4 is better, than D3, but that’s because most games are better, than D3. How did it come about to captivate you so much is beyond me, but it’s definitely not the measuring stick by which we should judge a good ARPG, or a good Diablo game.
D2 remains king.
Yeah, at least nightmare dungeons have a theme and general layout. Rifts were comprised of a random mish-mash of terrain and mob families. They just need to make every dungeon available from sigils so it doesn’t feel like we’re running the same handful of dungeons over and over again.
This would be nice, actually. A more robust roster of NMDs would be a welcome change. Maybe thicker density of mobs, so I don’t just feel like I have to repeatedly farm Dopamine Tunnels. ![]()
Welcome to the “Endgame”.
Well to me and what makes d4 feel different.
20k paragon. A reason to play efficient and in groups. In d4 u can play inefficient and still reach max lvl without much effort. In d3 being efficient meant u be able to gain more power in a season. Also there was grifts with leaderboards and exp scaling with gr lvls. In d3 there was exp metas which evolved. Season start was about finding ppl to team up with and build a meta team. I thought that was fun. No reason to do that in d4 because u can solo without any issues
nevermind
