All the bosses are easily defeated using the latest broken build.
What if…
There was a boss sooooo tough, so hard, attacks so fast and so deadly that there is no way it can be defeated even by a group, that the only sensible move would be to RUN!
Sure, some fools will try but they will meet their timely deaths.
It will only rarely spawn in an outworld event, a helltide perhaps or some other event or maybe a town. It knows where you are. There will be little warning much like how the music changes when the Butcher is near.
There HAS to be a penalty if one dies to this creature. I’m proposing you lose everything in your personal inventory (on your character) except for what you are wearing and gold. You will have to go back and pick up your gear though once the coast is clear.
What’s the point you ask?
Simple, there needs to be some fear and trepidation. Even if you are playing the latest broken meta build. There needs to be some risk to amplify the dopamine effect of doing otherwise mundane grinding tasks.
Where is the fear factor only Hardcore players have? Softcore need not be so snowflake soft.
Thats called a Raid Boss.
A spiritborn does push ups for 2 minutes and then does duodecillion damage and erases the boss from existence.

A raid boss is defeatable…this boss isn’t. This is a disrupter boss.
Wouldn’t it be better to mend the illness (i.e. broken builds inflicting unusual amounts of damage) instead of medicating the symptoms (i.e. unusual amounts of damage killing everything in milliseconds)?
So like a Tarrasque, but in Diablo?
This sounds stupid. Why would anyone want a punishing auto fail mechanic?

That would be ideal…but the broken build players will still have something to fear.
Have Tathamet spawn out of a portal from another timeline and eat the player like Jurassic Park.
Then you respawn in town.

So why not just get rid of broken builds instead?

They could also make them last longer than 0.01 seconds so we actually have to interact with their mechanics, it’s my first time playing the game and there’s not a single boss where I know what they do yet I killed all of them
If we got rid of the broken builds no-one will play. Apparently it’s more fun if bosses are one shotted according to Rod Ferguson…which I take to mean broken builds are here to stay.
I rather like that idea, but people would complain so much I can imagine the dev’s taken it out within 1 week. -_-
