Sorc is the weakest class at the moment. Does compared to most other classes nearly no damage and has to play the dumb immortal-flameshield build to even clear pits over 110.
Blizzard:
Hmmmm. What about sorc? Dunno maybe change 2-3 Skills for more defense. The rest should be fine.
It is not my intention to make a “cry-baby-post” out of this, but based on the latest patchnotes I highly doubt, that Blizzard is listening to anything at all from their player base and further I highly doubt, that they have any plan at all about the real current issues of the classes.
These patch notes are abysmal. We needed skill damage doubled (IE, 2x Glacial) at the minimum. Sure, the survivability changes are nice, but our damage is literally the lowest of all the classes in the game.
Damage buffs received for Ice Spike, Frozen Orb? 0. Hard nothing. Incinerate got 3% and 4-6% from Combustion. Maybe 2-3 tiers?
Good game, See you Season 5.

The Esadora’s “buff” is a clear indication LITERALLY NOBODY AT BLIZZARD plays their own game.
Holy hell, blizz, the damage of that stupid nova IS NOT THE REASON nobody is using this pile of garbage. Show me one “real” person walking around spending their merry time collecting CE to have a 15% chance to release a nova.
Am guessing since both ice spikes and frozen orb can get additional DPS based on the uniques related to them.
With fast attack speed and blue rose you can proc quite a few spikes.
Similar to a fast 2x explosion frozen orb spamming conjurations, granted you would need to invest at least 8 points minimal just to get the passives of the conjurations, with another 4 to unlock mana regen based on conjurations and aspects to have more hydras on the field and/or faster swords , dual lighting spears. All of which add to the overall dps.
Still i dont like to feel like a corralled animal forced to build in that specific way.
We greatly appreciate everyone’s excitement since the launch of Season 4 and are very happy with the state of the game.

Those are additive bonuses, heavily diluted. If they were changed to multiplicative, particularly Blue Rose, there would be cause for celebration. A greater Blue Rose would be 63% multiplicative damage right on the top, instead of the like…5% it is now.
Yea but ice spike is a proc, it was never meant to be game changer, if instead of frost nova we had an ice spike passive skill branch then that dps would increase exponentially with the glyph and tempers which would add another RNG roll just to get those specific ice spike X% dmg boosts
I want some firewall buffs. It’s good for leveling but falls off super hard. 500k damage over 8 seconds while barbs cleave entire groups for 40 million damage four times a second. Good balance.
It is clear that sorc will stay in its current horrid state until whoever is working on the class is replaced. I have abandoned the class completely and have no intention of coming back to it until it’s properly fixed.
I find it quite hilarious that arguably the 2 strongest classes in the game got as many buffs as they did and we got the smallest amount of changes and some of the least impactful changes in the whole patch notes. Really hard to even bother playing Sorc right now. Delete that infinite flame shield build and we’re no where to be seen.
This only means that the end of season patch is going to cut them down in half but they will have a silver lining with the buffs at mid season.
You cant expect the devs to solve everything in one patch.
