Hey, I was wondering if Runeworkers Conduit aspect or Electrocution glyph (the lightning bolt damage multipliers) improve the damage on cataclysm? It’s hard to tell when I try testing it out.
Does anyone know any aspects that’ll improve cataclysm damage?
any global multiplier will increase the damage so the mjolnic ring does increase the damage, aspect of the elements, edgemaster, thunderstruck paragon node. Electrocution doesn’t increase its damage directly but it does with the bonus but glyphs like keeper, earth and sky and fulminate does increase the damage of cataclysm. On the skill tree you can take bad omen and electric shock.
Another thing you can do is use tempest roar and take the lupine ferocity key passive.
Even with all this don’t expect to see big numbers, cataclysm is just a support skill for the mjolnic ring bonus, which is kinda sad but what ever, it is what it is.
Thanks for the reply! I’ve gotten my cataclysm to be hitting for up to 30 million per lightning strike so far and my gear isn’t close to being the best. I can probably get it to 35 million - 40 million per hit. Basically I’m a bear and use the guarantee overpower and only using cataclysm for damage. It’s working super well so far. Definitely not the best, but not the worst
I think this is a bug, but I have noticed if I use cast cataclysm with the guaranteed overpower before my previous cataclysm has ended, the new cast will actually not overpower, so I have to wait for it to end before casting again (or cast when there’s like 1 second or less left)
oh you are doing the overpower build, i don’t know if your skill tree and paragon board have space for the suggestions i made. Maybe it would be better to go full overpower, so max life is a big damage increase, dominate glyph i think it’s called.
I had some fun using the Flickerstep boots with Cataclysm for cooldowns. It’s a bit intense to keep it going though.
no, those 2 you mentioned have no impact becuase cataclysm strikes are not considered Lightning Bolt by the developers of the game. Same crap with Lightning Storm core skill.
Mjolnic ryng takes lightning bolt damage and adds those bonuses to cataclysm
To be clear then using electrocution glyph on thunderstruck board while using mjolnic ancestral unique should maximize all lightning based skills?
