Hello there, so I have 3 eternal characters and 2 seasonal ones (one made just now). The first eternal character that I created when the game was released I completed every waypoint there is on the map, so no waypoint is left, all are 100% found & activated. When the season dropped and I started playing the seasonal character I started activating the waypoints again and currently, I do not have them all activated. My issue and the bug I found is that, when I logged in to my second eternal character that should’ve had all the waypoints found & activated, doesn’t. What I’m trying to say is that my second eternal character has found all the waypoints but has active only the ones that the seasonal character has. Shouldn’t all eternal characters have all the waypoints if the first eternal character created has discovered & activated them all?
Waypoints do not transfer.
I know they do not transfer on seasonal, but I’m talking about my second eternal character created before the season came out and still had all waypoints discovered and activated and now it doesn’t.
Waypoints do not transfer, period. It has nothing to do with seasonal.
The only thing that transfers between characters is the map and altars. Waypoints are not a part of the map.
Waypoints did never transfer. Before the patch, we didn’t even have full map discovery, only main towns with their waypoints.
Wdym they never transfer, I have 2 alt eternal characters that had 100% waypoints activated because of the first one and now after I played seasonal, they don’t. Am I missing something or am I drunk.
When did you create those alts on the Eternal? Did you play them before the 18th?
If so, then you unlocked portions of the map and waypoints by playing the game normally.
The rest of the Map and Altars were unlocked automatically when you logged back in on them, but the waypoints were unlocked manually when you walked to that town and clicked on them.
The only other alternative is that you are right, and that the waypoints were unlocked automatically on your Alts, but then THAT is the bug, because they were not supposed to be unlocked.
Yea so it seems I was missing one last waypoint in the right corner of the map and I activated with the seasonal character. Does that mean every character eternal/seasonal I have will adapt now to the waypoints from the seasonal?
No.
Imagine that you have 2 characters on your account. You have a non-seasonal (Eternal) that has the map and altars from act 1,2, and 3 unlocked, and you have a seasonal who has the map and altars from acts 4,5 and 6 unlocked.
Then you create a new seasonal char, and a new Eternal char. You enter the game on your old seasonal, and then on your old Eternal, and when you do, this transfers all of their progress to the new characters you just created, and they both will have the full map and all the altars unlocked.
Hopefully this makes it clear. Progress doe no transfer strictly from Eternal to seasonal. It transfers from any character to any other character.
I’m sorry but it doesn’t make it any clear because I already had 2 eternal characters which had 100% waypoints unlocked + map. When I entered seasonal AFTER those characters were played and still had all waypoints unlocked, I started unlocking waypoints on seasonal. After that, when I entered one of the eternal characters I didn’t have the same waypoints I had before and I only had the ones which I found on seasonal.
My eternal waypoints should still exist on any eternal character I make, and my seasonal waypoints should still reset at the end of any season, but not on eternal.
Correct.
If you lost the waypoints on your Eternal characters, then that is a bug. You should never lose any waypoints that you unlocked manually. At the end of the season, you will not lose anything (other than the Malignant Hearts). Your characters will just become Eternal.
