Way too much loot --- UPDATE 5/14/23

Overall having a good time playing the game… but this is a ridiculous amount of loot. This needs to be peeled back by idk 30-50%. I’m level 23 with 6 legendaries and full yellows… seriously?

We shouldn’t really be seeing a single leggo until the 40s or 50s at best. I should be in all blue gear right now . Maybe a yellow or two but they’d be crappy.

It’s just way too much loot and if this much drops in end game… Going through and finding rare items is going to be absolutely brutal.

EDIT: 5/14/2023 — Well done Blizzard. this is SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER. I’m level 20 (havent finished the campaign yet) and do not have a single leggo. Thank the lords. This same time in the first beta i was absolutely showered in them. I only have two yellows as well. This is significantly better. HUGE THANKS!!!

im with you on this one, im hoping the loot is like it for the beta to test how different builds work with different gear , and will be toned down come release

its not always like that!

i die and reroll a lot and some characters have terrible luck compared to others

one got to 19 with 1 leggo to his name.

sometimes it rains, sometimes its dry.

The loot drop rate is fine. I was level 25 for awhile before I found my first useful legendary and to date, I have only found 2 “good” legendaries.

loot is fine rather have too much than too little :chicken:

Pretty sure loot drops were turned up so we could get the feel of the systems used in extracting powers.

Here’s a counter point. I hit max level and was able to make a build. Once I had that build, upgrades were actually a pain in the behind to get. Main reason being that to upgrade an item, I needed the aspect (which, with as many legendaries I found, was difficult, mostly because there are a lot of different legendaries), I needed the gold to actually be able to extract and imprint the item, I needed to pray that the aspect that was on said legendary was even for the same slot I wanted to replace. (ex, I got a neck with an effect that increased basic attacks attack speed, but that aspect could ONLY imprint on a weapon, so replacing that neck meant that I needed a power slot open on a weapon)

TL;DR: You need to actually hit a max level and try to make/upgrade a build before you really judge drop rates.

I thought the same thing when Legendaries were dropping far more frequently then I thought they should’ve. And even rares are dropping too much imo. I’m hoping they increased the drop rate for the beta because otherwise it will get old fast.

I do not feel lucky to find legendaries anymore and even rares don’t impress me. Blues I only pick up to sell now without even checking their stats. I want to be excited when I get a legendary drop, even though 99% of the ones I’ve found are not good.

Even the rares should be scaled down dropwise but I’m guessing from my own experience that they are dropping a lot because the roles on each item has so many possibilities that it is going to take a very lucky drop/roll to get your BIS/God tier item.

Since legendary items aren’t all that great, except to grab their special ability and tack it onto a rare you like, I can see why the drops are so high if it is intended. With so many possibilities it will allow each player to fine tune their build to to their liking. If that is their intent I can except it even if it feels wrong to have so many drops happening.

To each their own.

I really hope this is why… its crazy you do a single dungeon and you have 15-20 rares at level 22. Endless rares and leggos.

I think they’ve increased the loot drops by about 60% for beta. If not, I agree. Its dropping too much, and feels less meaningful.

The Curiousity vendor was practically giving legendaries away. Contrast that with Kadala in D3.

I am absolutely certain the rate will plummet in release.

I agree, too much loot!
It isn’t good when you have to tp to town mid dungeon to clear bags.
Even D3 rifts were not this bad.

Loot in general is fine. You need MATS / Gold that you get from loot drops. (Look at D:I, D2, etc) Loot is paced about the same rate. As for leggos, RNG just was in your favor. I think I found maybe 5 legos from my 1-25 on sorc.

I agree. There is too much dropping.
Specially because items scales with your level.
Another problem in my eyes is because there is no affix tiers on items then every rare will roll with affixes that are very close to max rolls.
So at level 100 lets say Damage to close enemies is 45-50% rolls. Whenever this affix rolls it will always be in the range of 45-50. While it should be a 1-50% roll. With different tiers and roll ranges.

I just fear the loothunt is going to be incredibly short and in the end we will end at the point where Diablo 3 is. Fun for the first day until you cannot really upgrade the gear. and all you are doing is searching for legendary rolls, exactly like D3.

The games is also designed around when you get all legendaries, then you can do hell mode. There you will get the sacred armor. When you get all that, then you can do the next difficulty level.

The armor / crafting system sux. Get back to basics bliz.

complaining about getting loot in a dungeon crawler that has always been about dropping tons of loot

never thought id see the day…

these posts get dumber by the hour

Dumber? Why? Because the game that made the entire franchise popular wasn’t like this at all?

D2 didn’t rain a rare a minute and it’s the best game of the series.

I personally don’t find getting 60 yellows an hour at level 15 good for the game. If you can’t see the problem with that then you’re the dummy.

By the hour? My friend Donut, stupidity is not only infinite…it is eternal. Stupidity defies time. Oddly enough, and despite our own personal wish to be excluded and above it, that stupidity defines and defies all of us.

As the smart math guy with white brillo hair said, ‘Two things are infinite : the universe and human stupidity ; and I’m not sure about the universe.’
