Way over 100 level in the game and playing on Torment 2 - no Mythic drops?!

So looked online and discover you now only get Mythics by fighting the bosses and there’s a 1.5% drop rate???!!! :scream:

Are you kidding me??!! There is NO WAY I am going to sit at my computer and play against a boss over and over again for a 1.5% chance drop rate!!

Are there people out there who will be doing this!!?? Good grief. These runs are exhausting and stressful - not worth it.

I enjoy the dungeons (beautiful , amazing and interesting) and don’t mind running them to get obducite - however, the drop rate now is abysmal for obducite and Infernal Hordes are getting extremely hard to do now. (Please fix the number count on Infernal Hordes…it is NOT working. The one on the upper right says only “0”.)
Anyway, total bummer on the Mythics… :disappointed_relieved:

I may continue to just fool around with Diablo 4 in the mornings doing the fun stuff but mostly going back to my Steam games instead to pass time.

There are no confirmed Drop rates. Also you get 1 mythic for free from the reputation board, and a t1 lilith kill or finishing chaper 6 of the seasonal journey.

as for the drop rates - id assume they are somewhere between 3 and 5%.

Either way - you dont need mythics as they arent build enabling, but build enhancing. So if you dont want to farm for them, its totally fine not to.

You could be lucky and have a Mythic drop after just a couple of Boss kills. For sure, there will be players who will jump in the thread and will tell you they got one just from a single kill (even happened to me once). Doing them in T2, it will probably take a couple of hundred kills to have a good chance for a Mythic.

As Nuyrei suggested you could increase your season reputation until the last reward which contains a Mythic Spark. Just join the players doing the Apparitions. It will still take time but it is a guaranteed source. Killing Lilith even in T1 might still be difficult for you but you can ask for help in the forum for that. I waited to be comfortable in T3 to do it. I believe the Spark from the season journey is in the last chapter not chapter 6 and it is going to be hard to obtain it.

I crafted my first Mythic with the 2 Sparks, reputation and Lilith. Was lucky to get a Starless Ring which is useful for almost just any build.

Honestly, historically, items like that have had abysmally low drop rates. That goes back to older looter ARPGs and in fact I’ve played jrpgs with items that have far lower rates.

Now do I think that might be excessive in today’s gaming environment, especially for a seasonal game? Sure.

But I’m more surprised that that surprises you than I am that it’s still a thing.

Welcome to looter games, I guess. Happy hunting!

also i believe each legendary gets a roll to see if it’s mythic, so the higher the Torment the more legendary drops = more attempts at whatever the % is for it to be Mythic.

if this season follows previous and if my old memory is correct :
T1 = 4 unique
T2 = 5 unique
T3 = 6 unique
T4 = 7 unique

I’m still stuck in T1 boss farming so no way to know if this is actually true in the new season

I believe it starts at 3 in T1 unless you are in a Party of 4 which gives an additional item.

Replying to my own post SO basically everyone is cool with the bosses being unbelievably difficult to beat at higher torments and the low Mythic drop rate being at 1.3%???

This is a new definition of a game to me. Games are supposed to be fun not like working in a coal mine or a sweat shop.

But looks like I’m the odd man out on this…seems like everybody thinks it’s great. :smile:

They are the best items in the game. They must be rare… And they can indeed fall from anywhere, but the chance is very rare. Play the game naturally. I like to do bosses but without obligation. I do it when I want. There are many activities. I need to do pits for glyphs, dungeons for obducite, hordes for scrolls, etc. Play the game.

I’ve gotten several, thinks … Including Sparks… I think I had 7 ??

Maybe you just need to join a good clan, Like I am.

But you gotta taste the rainbow to TRULEY belong.

“To pass time”

Maybe if you did something productive with your life you wouldnt play games just “to pass time” :rofl:

Now that wasn’t very nicey Nice to say to a fellow gamer!

Shame on you!! :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

This post represents one of the main issues with d4, the average casual player is makings his build backwards, and to make things worst, they add mythic items to the list, while these items are supposed to drop from the hardest content in t4 (yes, you can get them in lowers tiers but very low chance).

And since they can’t insta make their tier S+ MaxNoobs build, they get frustrated and complains about how ‘hard’ and anti-fun the game is.

season 8 is mythic desert. :sob:

My GF got a Mythic from the Elites at the end of the infernal hordes. They do not count as lair boss, or?
And we mainly played T1-3 and got some. We also did Lilith T1 and got our spark and finished the bounty journey. A Spark and a mythic.

So, there are ways to get some.

I’m 83 years old and retired - ex-school teacher.

Good try at an insult though.

Exactly why do you go on forums and insult posters…maybe YOU need to use your time constructively and …stop being so MEAN!

That’s not true - they can drop anywhere but are very rare. You have a better chance with bosses but I’m not sure it’s as low as 1.5%. I have found 2 so far and I’m damn sure I haven’t done 133 Boss Kills. I think it’s more like 2.5-5%? At least that’s what they used to be I believe. 5% is 1/20 which isn’t too bad.

They can also be found semi-reliably if you have the right Tribute for Undercity, though I think at Paragon 210ish I only found 3-4 of these and all were solo-only ones not the party ones. Seems Tribute acquisition has been nerfed or are they mainly found in Helltide? I didn’t do much HT this season.

Also Resplendent Sparks can be easily generated now by handing in Spectral Ashes on alts to complete the seasonal rewards track. 2 sparks for a mythic. Pretty dumb IMO but there it is. I guess you need to farm the ash first.
