Wave of Woe - how to use?

Greetings,

I seem to be confused about the witch power Wave of Woe, because I have it equipped at level 20, but I don’t see anything happening. What triggers the effect? What does the effect look like? What does not trigger the effect?

Thanks for your time and assistance!!

For reference, this is what the tool tip says about it:
Wave of Woe: Release a Wave of Woe when damaging an enemy with your skills. Wave of Woe deals an additional X Shadow damage and echoes this damage to all other nearby enemies of the same type.

At Rank 5, damage is increased by 15% each time damage is echoed and is guaranteed to echo at least five times. May strike the same target multiple times.

I’m not sure blizzard even knows at this point.

But don’t worry they’ll probably disable it for a week and patch it back in more useless than when it left…

My guess if it feels like it’s doing nothing it’s probably working as intended.

thats pretty much this season all over, do not notice the difference.

test it at the 5 training dummies, remove other witch power and only equip Woe, choose a simple basic attack and activate one at a time, you will notice the purple spark ignited on your target and the rest of the nearby dummies which you didn’t attack.

@SageBright
Ah, ha. I see. It’s a bright white or blue skin (or highlight) that briefly covers the enemies, moving from one to another. Not really a wave at all imo.

It worked for me with several of the Sorcerer’s fire attack abilities.

Thanks for the help!!

When I first tried WoW in early season, I actually saw a wave (graphics down to lowest settings). Maybe they nerfed the visuals due to stability?

you just need to do damage to trigger this witch power but its far from the best powers available.

Oh? Which ones do you like as a replacement?

Its definitely wave of :yawning_face: woe and not wave of whoa!
