Wasting hollows - bug solution

I read what someone else did and I was able to complete this quest doing the following

  1. Enter dungeon
  2. run past npc
  3. see if gate is targetable and you can damage it- if you can hit the gate, leave the dungeon, log out to character screen, return to game (do not log out in the instance or you will have to run back like I did)
  4. repeat this process until the gate can not be damaged
  5. talk to npc, once chat is done they will rush the gate and attack it. There are several waves you need to kill
  6. dance with joy you finally got this done.

It took me 8 attempts total

I’ll try that. Thanks! The quest definitely doesn’t work for many people and that need to be fixed.
