Since PC players are getting WASD movement and can aim with their mouse, us inferior console players sould be able to move with the left left thumbstick and aim with the completely unused right thumbstick.
The right thumbstick should also be used for cycling through and selecting loot on the ground to pick up, instead of having to pick up numerous other objects in the way just to get the item you want.
Edit: In my inferiority, I just realised that i can’t aim and hit the attack buttons with my right thumb at the same time. Duh.

The first step is admitting you have a problem.

By the way, is there a cursor on console? Can you click on something to target? What is the point of the right thumbstick?
Advantages comes with investment, dont want to pay for a big costy pc? You dont get all the advantages of the pc then
Welcome to life on earth where money buys privileges.

Increased chance of a surprise when you accidentally sit on it when left on the sofa?
Unfair advantage? Is this a competitive shooter? Don’t you guys already have Auto Aim, I mean Aim Assist?

I understand how you feel. Controller users are pretty much at a disadvantage. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be good in game. Not all Mouse and Keyboard players are good either. The majority are mostly casuals anyway. So it’s all fair and square.
It probably matters if you are playing competitively where every second matters.
On my Firewall Sorc, two things I found that are much better with Mouse and Keyboard:
Controller behavior:
- There is no way to cast Firewall at a specific point. You have to turn your character towards the direction where you want it to land Firewall and hope it lands at the spot where you want it. You might need to cast multiple times. This is a big deal in PvP. If you are fighting another Firewall Sorc with Mouse and Keyboard, he can kill you first by virtue of being able to land those Firewalls accurately
- Evading. Same thing. You have to turn your character towards the direction where you wanna evade. This is actually a big deal against Uber Lilith. Controller is still doable but not as precise as a Mouse and Keyboard.
Mouse and Keyboard behavior:
- To cast Firewall at a specific point, hover your mouse to a spot. Cast Firewall. Precise.
- To evade, you can face whatever direction. If you want to evade backwards, no need to turn around. Just point your mouse behind you and hit the evade key on your keyboard. Precise.
Console player here btw. Just got a PC this week so I get to enjoy Mouse and Keyboard in S3.
…Why are they not using the right thumbstick for a cursor? It just sits there completely unused?
No. Moving the thumbstick just changes what is highlighted to select.

I have the game on PC and Xbox and I prefer to play it on Xbox. I like being on my sofa playing on a huge screen with my surround sound system. I have never once felt like I was at a disadvantage playing on console. The only downside is typing which is a real pain on console. They are fixing the trading issues too which will help.
Yup.
I need 16 more characters.
Aim assist isn’t what you think it is. Imagine a group of mobs coming onto you. Cast Firewall. Guess which monster will be targeted?
With Mouse and Keyboard, you can point at a precise spot and land your Firewall on that spot.
Even in FPS, aim assists sucks once you are good at manual aiming. Also being able to aim precisely than relying on auto aim also brings more satisfaction (at least to me. I know folks who find more satisfaction with cheats like auto aim lol).

I’m actually perfectly fine with the movement and aiming on controller as they are, I’m casual who doesnt engage in PVP.
My bigest issue is the inability to select loot on the ground with the right thumbstick. WASD is a hot topic at the moment and I wanted to bring more attention to the issues with using a controller.
Thanks for participating
Is keyboard actually supported for D4 on console? Afaik Blizzard in their infinite wisdom previously said it wouldnt be.
Apparently you’ve never used the methods to abuse Aim Assist in games like COD and Fortnite. If you know what to research and how to do it, Aim Assist literally turns into an Aimbot. No exaggeration. If you’re just a standard Controller Player you’re not going to know this unless you stumble across the how to’s or someone shows/teaches you. Anyway, none of this is relevant to D4 as it was supposed to be a joke. However, since you take it so seriously I just wanted to point out where you are wrong.
I don’t play CoD (I tried once but I don’t consider it playing) and especially Fortnite (never touched this one).
When I think of aim assist, I’m not thinking of aimbot. Now if it’s becoming an aimbot, well that’s definitely bad.
Not sure where I am wrong?
Oh of course I never abuse aim assist because I don’t rely on aim assist on FPS. I rely on my own skills. Hence, I hate FPS in consoles. I prefer Mouse and Keyboard.
Right but you were very adamant about Aim Assist sucks even in FPS games.
I know Fortnite isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I played for years, was actually quite good, dabbled in competitive and did well. The insane unfair strength and abuse of Aim Assist in that game (seeing as how it’s cross platform and PC players can use Controller) and the fact that people refused to admit what was clear as day regarding it ultimately drove me to quit.
The arguments about Aim Assist in that game killed me. All kinds of testing and evidence on video, clear as day, and nothing. It was like telling someone it’s dark outside when it’s 1am and them saying “it’s not dark, the street lamps are on.”
yup controller sheme should be optimized as well. at least some form of range adjustments, maybe with the shoulder buttons wouldnt be bad.
