WASD is more fun for a lot of people. No one I have seen asking for WASD is suggesting we remove click to move, only that they implement the option as a choice.
I see so many people concerned with them changing the game to work around WASD, but the game is already balanced around lots of movement, given how reliant we are on using the NEWLY implemented dodge ability (that PC users did not have access to in D3 btw). There are many bullet hell like mechanics in the game that relies on heavy movement, and making the players stop moving while casting as the game already does would make WASD fit in just fine with no need for rebalance.
This is a simple thing, a simple request because people find it more fun. Please stop with all the straw man arguments, and condescending comments because older veterans think everyone who wants something they donât is âpatheticâ or a âwhiney crybabyâ.
Change is good, you donât have to be afraid of it. Please add WASD controls support so more players can have more fun. That is all.
WASD would make the gameplay experience much better for many hence bring in a large player base and more money to Blizzard and more fun to the players without much work for Blizzard to achieve this.
If anyone doesnât like WASD he can opt out for mouse movement. In my opinion over 99% of PC gamers will pick WASD over mouse movement so argument that games didnât previously use it and hence there is no need for it is just counter productive since games should evolve to be more fun and accessible if possible and having an extra option for a different movement control leaves no possibility to make the game worse.
Mouse movement makes me feel completely disconnected to my character, in a room full of enemies I can accidentally click on an enemy instead of moving in his direction making me feel more disconnected and less in control of my character which can in turn lead to frustration and quite the opposite of fun.
Having no WASD movement for PC players is disappointing, especially for new Diablo players like myself, I for one have probably burned myself on this game unless they implement WASD movement. Donât get me wrong the game is still good but I wouldnât buy it if I knew there is no WASD, I was quite disappointed when I realized it. I donât really feel in control of the my character, it feels like he is my puppet and Iâm doing my best pulling the strings.
WASD should have been implemented into Diablo games a long while ago, it is time.
I checked to make sure you could play with a keyboard. Most PC users would assume that means WASD movement. To make matters worse, the logitech controller that works fine on Elden Ring wouldnât work. I found a video hinting that you probably need an Xbox brand. So Microsoft buys Blizzard, Blizzard game needs a Microsoft controller. You have my $57.23 for the controller now. Can you please add WASD. This mouse click movement is something my dog would program.
I donât understand you, I think a lot of people like myself would prefer to play with WASD controls actually I assume the vast majority would so basically you would have a mouse movement option and WASD option, how could additional control option be something you are against just because you seem to be one of the few people that would prefer the mouse option?
Itâs easy to just assume the vast majority of other players want the same as you particularly when you donât seem alone in asking for it.
But let me assure you as a PC player I wouldnât /wonât use it if and when they added it.
I tried console controller and went straight back to mouse and keyboard as the mouse gave me much more precise targeting for abilities and I felt better over all control. Iâm not saying controller was awful it wasnât, just not as good as the more traditional control scheme.
I canât imagine WSAD controls will be better than a controller, and can see a few reasons they could be worse.
That said I donât mind if they implement it to keep the people stuck on the idea happy.
But Iâve no real data to tell me what % of PC players really want it.
Would be interesting to see how widely used it is on PC if intruduced.
My assumption would be that most PC players lobbying for it will initially use it when implemented and maybe half of them will revert back to standard mouse and keyboard as they realise it isnât better. But thatâs based on my personal view of how it would actually workout not hard data any more than your assumption most PC players want it, even 10% of PC players wanting it would create a massive clamour for adding it after all.
At first i did not care about this wasd.
After playing V rising, i like to see blizz add this option. Im ok if blizz borrows the idea from V Rising, and give us wasd walk and pan camera.
Fingers crossed.
Thanks blizz
WASD provides the benefits of joystick-like character control with the precision of a mouse reticle. I think youâre a bit lost, because itâs definitely a step up from a controller. Click to move is always superior but also has a higher skill floor-to-ceiling.
I think your confused I use click to move, have in all the diablo games. I tried controller and as I said was OK but not as good. You yourself have just said click to move is a step up from WSAD, so why would I use it when Iâm already using a better control method?
Iâm saying your argument is invalid. They support controller joystick character movement so WASD is baked in to the engine already and it would make it more accessible to a larger PC audience. WASD+Mouse is superior to a controller, which you claimed it wasnât. I think youâre the one thatâs confused and just want to hate people who donât play the game the same way you do. Iâm also an exclusive click to move player but Iâm still able to recognize the benefits of WASD+Mouse, thereâs zero reason to be opposing.
