What do you think guys about that idea? As i see other sorces, noone uses wands, yet, noone buys them too and i think the reason is that dagger 30% close damage AND lucky hit , which many builds just dont use, including mine
Sorcerer use wands and luck hit is a MUST have for them.
Dagger does not give you lucky hit at all. Only wand does.
I used wand on both my Sorc and Necro specifically for the lucky hit chance.
So no thanks…
I must have for who ? .
Many others think that way too, i have like 10 exellect wands that i cant sell : meanwhile, daggers i sell like isntantly with relatively bad stats
what is that for a nonsence fake facts post?!?!?!
There are many use cases for lucky hit for specific builds. For example, lucky hit can trigger xfals, firewall enchant, accursed aspect, FoF, mana regen on lucky hit, healing on lucky hit, etc. This is just to list a few
There have been a lot of posts recently about lucky hit in this forum which contradict your personal opinion that (1) lucky hit isnt helpful (2) many builds dont use it.
Icy vein / maxroll builds are good starter builds but (1) do not represent what most builds are or should be (2) you need to do your own theory crafting for your specific use case (nmd vs PvP vs gauntlet) to become best in class. Best in class builds arent going to be found on websites because it hurts the theory crafter’s competitive edge against other players.
Lastly, damage to distant enemies is additive wheras lucky hit increases the rate of multiplicative damage across the spectrum of skills and equipment attributes. Lucky hit dominates additive damage for quite a few use cases / builds.
I don’t know what you’re on about, I always use wands and that lucky hit is a big reason why. For better or worse it’s a core class mechanic.
Also damage close with daggers is a crap affix for a squishy caster class unless you’re doing some fairly specific stuff like Arc Lash or Raiment Telestomp.
I use a sword…
@OP, as the rogue dev wreck has shown forcing ranged play, you can always use a bow…and it would still be problematic with dmg distant.
There are many flavor problems in design in the game, but the idea of mage class getting lucky hit mechanic i think is in line with what mage class should be like.
Depending on the build, lucky hit chance can be more useful, especially if you are not close to enemies.
The only " usefull " lucky hit stat is that it can reset a defensive , and that happenes once a year. Skills like imobilize, freeze est est are trash mob matters, of realy no importance. Yet, either Ball L and FO and i do believe BL too builds benefits like 2% of restoring mana with lucky hits - and its ways better to just stack resource generation
You’re leaving out a lot of significant use cases. LH isn’t only for crowd control. That’s probably its least important set of uses. More important are the ones attached to various enchants and uniques.
It’s cool if you don’t like it, but it’s an important class mechanic and I like wands just how they are. Now if you want to talk about replacing the inherent affix on Staves, I’m all ears…
I would consider this a pretty severe nerf.
Additive damage in a pool that has few if any direct modifiers (unlike vuln/crit/conjuration, ect) is quite easy to find. 15% lucky hit, if a desired stat, has fewer ways to source by a good margin.
Tell me you don’t understand sorc without telling me you don’t understand sorc lol
I would like to see this affixes removed. It forces you to play exactly a specific weapon althoug you maybe have a better wand or as Hota barb a sword or axe or something. Or you simply like a axe cooler than a mace. But you are forced to play with this kind of weapon.
Lucky Hit is essential to the two builds I play this season, Meteor and Incinerate.
There are only 2 1h weapon types for sorc, so like what you mean
Think Mars means the obvious ‘clipboard’ answer. You can always choose to play Barb and use something that looks cooler like an Axe.
When you think about it, the wand is really just like an Axe but without the head. It’s like the Barb broke their axe fighting uber lilith and gave us the left over stick to use as a wand and we made do the best we could.
Lol as long as its still lucky, broken barb stik probably still more stats than w/e my sorc has atm
causual enjoyer wants to theorycrafting ICANT
Barbs are quite a different story m8, the next season 95% of the population will be playing hota i do believe
